Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 376

The raging fire reached the roof. Everything before her looked reddish.

She knelt in the fire and called to Heaton hysterically. Nevertheless, the man on the ground would not wake up.

"Heaton! Heaton... Heaton!"

A huge pillar on fire broke and smashed down from the roof. Verian's pupils suddenly widened.

Her slim body immediately covered Heaton's body to block the pillar.

She felt immense pain as if her skin was being removed and her bones were broken.

"Heaton... No..."

The nurse nearby was changing the drip. She saw that the patient on the bed was showing signs of waking up and hurried out to call their family.

"Who is Verian's family? She's waking up!"

Yandel and Xylean were stunned for a while and quickly strode into the ward.

Verian was obviously having nightmares. The sweat on her forehead dampened the hair on her forehead.

"Heaton... Heaton..."

Xylean got closer to listen. "She's calling for Heaton."

Yandel said to the nurse, "Tell the doctor to come over."

"Sure, I'll go now."

Xylean asked, "How's Heaton?"

Yandel shook his head. "His condition is very bad. When the flour exploded, he put Rainie in his arms to protect her. Also... He was hit by a burning pillar that dropped down. He's badly injured."

Although Xylean did not see the scene, she could imagine how Heaton had carefully protected Verian. She felt touched.

Yandel's cell phone rang. It was Yale.

"Second young master, Jean ran away. The police and the people we sent are searching for her around the whole city."

Yandel's jaw tightened and his face looked stern. "Be sure to catch her!"

"Second young master, rest assured. Ms. Verian's husband is still in a coma now because of Jean. We must have our revenge!"

As he hung up, the nurse and doctor entered the ward.

Yandel hugged Xylean and moved backward to give way to the doctor to check on Verian.

"Doctor, how’s my sister?"

The doctor said, "Your sister is not seriously injured. She's in a coma because she inhaled some carbon dioxide. It's not very serious. It's just that... The wound on her face was so deep that it could leave scars."

Yandel looked at Verian who was lying on the hospital bed, unconscious. He furrowed his eyebrows and asked worriedly, "Will anything happen to the baby in her stomach?"

"The child is fine. Everything will be alright if she rests well later.”

As for the injury on her face... It might take a long time to remove the scar.

Although a woman always wanted to look good for the person she liked, Xylean was not so worried about Verian's wound on her face. She said, "Now that medical systems are so well-developed, it's easy to remove a little scar on the face. The most important thing is that Verian is alright now."

The doctor agreed and said, "Yeah. Nowadays, aesthetic medicine is very advanced. There are many ways to remove a scar. Also, some people have good skin metabolism so as long as it's well taken care of, the scar will disappear after some time."

Yandel's originally bitter mood became slightly better.

Curving his lips up lightly, he looked at the little woman next to him. "Xylean, are you comforting me?"

Refusing to admit it, Xylean said, "Don't think too highly of yourself. I was just analyzing the situation objectively."

A light smile appeared on Yandel's face. He took his hand to firmly hold Xylean's that was resting by her thigh.

Xylean furrowed her beautiful eyebrows slightly and raised her head to stare at him. Yandel was not influenced by it. She shook his big hand but could not release her hand from his grip. Xylean gave up struggling and let him hold her hand tightly.

Xylean understood that he was anxious for her. Perhaps it was because he had witnessed Heaton and Verian's love for each other during a near-death experience.

"You go and check on Heaton. I'm here to watch over Verian." Xylean suggested.
