Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 4

Three years later, at North City Airport, a news flash was broadcasted in the hall.

“North City’s latest financial news: Fudd Enterprise bought out the land along Navy Road and is planning to build a large-scale entertainment center in the area. It was reported that Navy Road was surrounded by wealthy neighborhoods. Demolition will be a difficult issue as there are a lot of high-class residential and villas in the area. Today, we are honored to interview the CEO of Fudd’s Group, Heaton Fudd. Let’s take a look at how he will solve this problem.”

Verian Mont was attracted by the massive screen in the hall as soon as she disembarked the plane.

A man dressed in a gray suit and a black tie appeared on the screen. He had porcelain skin but did not look girly at all. He was very handsome and had well defined facial features. His cold aura was unforgettable.

The man’s clasped hands rested on his lap and he was calm when facing the camera. A faint smile spread across his thin lips. “Nobody will feel that they have too much money, the same goes to the people living in this wealthy neighborhood. If money can’t solve their issues, it means that there is just not enough money.”

The host’s eyes gleamed with admiration and astonishment. The host politely smiled and asked, “If you don’t mind me asking, President Fudd, how long will it take for this complicated and large demolition process to be completed?”

The man looked straight at the camera with sharp, wise eyes and said, “Fudd will deal with all the residents and complete the demolition process in one week.”

The scene was then cut off. It transitioned from showing a handsome man’s face to Navy Road. It was a disaster. Many residents already moved out, and most of the houses were demolished by excavators. The area was in ruins.

Verian’s dewy eyes trembled fiercely behind her shades. Her gaze was fixated on the Mont family villa on the screen. It meant that the Mont family villa, which was also located on Navy Road, would be demolished too!

The shaky camera showed a reporter stopping a fashionable, rich, middle-aged woman. The reporter asked, “Mrs. Sheen, you’re the owner of this villa. I heard that you’ve already come to terms with the Fudds regarding the price and conditions, am I right?”

The woman was none other than Verian’s stepmother, Queena Sheen!

Queena Sheen smiled at the camera and said, “Fudd Group offered us a generous amount. Therefore, we have no intention in opposing their decision. We will pack our stuff, hand in the key, and prepare to move today.”

Verian’s knuckles turned white as she tightly embraced the urn that was tied with a piece of black silk.

Her eyes were tinged with indifference. Three years ago, she could not return home; three years later, no one could stop her from bringing her father back to the Mont Family!

That was not merely a villa in a wealthy neighborhood. It was her father’s last anchor.

Verian clenched her fist. Pulling her suitcase, she quickly left the airport.

In June, the clear blue sky in North City appeared very different from the cold freezing night when she first left the city.

She looked up at the scorching sun then caressed the urn.

‘Father, I am bringing you back home after three years.’

A car honked at her and the owner of a white Polo stretched her head out of the car window, waving at Verian excitedly. “Rainie, here!”

The corner of Verian’s mouth lifted into a smile. Dragging her suitcase, she quickly walked toward the car. Guin Yellen mocked Verian as soon as she got into the car and took off her shades.
