Nancy Xander and Zaynie were both in the kitchen as Verian Mont had just walked into the kitchen. Nancy Xander gave her a smile and said, “Morning, Verian.”
“Morning, sister.”
Verian Mont took a clean glass and when she was just about to pour some water into it, Nancy Xander hastily said, “That’s last night’s water, drinking stale water is bad for your body. I’ve just boiled this batch of drinking water, let me serve you some.”
Verian Mont was shocked to be spoiled by her and said, “Thanks.”
After Nancy Xander had served her the glass of water and as Verian Mont was just about to leave with it, she felt a sudden force pushing her from behind and the water that she held onto was violently spilled onto Zaynie’s hand.
“Bwaah! Booo hoo hoo…Ah! It hurts!”
Zaynie began bawling his eyes out after being scalded by the glass of boiling water.
Heaton Fudd who was having a meal in the living room frowned after hearing Zaynie’s violent cries and strode into the kitchen. He asked, “What’s going on?”
The instant Heaton Fudd entered, he noticed Verian Mont was only holding onto a glass. The water in it had been completely spilled and the glass was currently still steaming.
Nancy Xander immediately hugged Zaynie into her arms while flushing his hand with tap water. She yelled out, “Verian, I know you’ve always disliked me, but Zaynie is just a five year old kid, how could you be so ruthless? That was freshly boiled water you know!”
Verian Mont was completely stunned and all she could hear was Nancy Xander’s brutal accusations and verbal assaults before she reacted to everything.
Nancy Xander looked at Heaton Fudd with tearful pleading eyes and said, “Heaton, could you send Zaynie to the hospital? It’ll be bad if blisters had formed on his hands.”
Heaton Fudd stared at Verian Mont with his dark pearly eyes who was standing at a corner. Verian Mont’s lips were twitching as her eyes met his. She wanted to explain, “Heaton Fudd, I…”
However, that man had already turned around to open the fridge and took out an ice pack. He placed the ice pack onto the back of Zaynie’s hand and said coldly, “I’ll send you guys to the hospital.”
Verian Mont stared at Heaton Fudd and Nancy Xander hastily sending Zaynie to the hospital for his burns.
It was obvious that Heaton Fudd was completely disinterested in her explanation since he unconditionally agreed to Nancy Xandy.
Her heart wrenched slightly.
It was Nancy Xander that had pushed her from behind that caused her to spill the boiling water from her cup onto Zaynie’s hand earlier.
Hmph. It seemed Nancy Xander who was a mother was truly brutal. In order to get Heaton Fudd to hate her, she was willing to harm her own son.
She took a deep breath and began wiping away the water that was spilled on the floor with a rug. However, she soon heard a series of coquettish innocent child-like sounds coming from upstairs.
“Daddy! Daddy! Monty? Monty! Where are you guys?”
As Verian Mont walked out, she noticed Little Jelly Bean slowly waddling down in her tiny yellow cartoonish slippers while grabbing onto the stair handles.
Verian Mont worried she might slip, rushed over and held onto her tiny hands and said, “You’re awake, Jelly Bean. Let’s get you freshened up then we’ll be off to breakfast okay?”
Little Jelly Bean nodded as she looked at the empty living room. She frowned with her tiny brows and asked, “Monty, where’s my daddy?”
“Your dad… went to send your brother to the hospital.”
“Is brother sick?”
Verian Mont shook her head and replied, “He was scalded by water earlier this morning. It’s my fault, I was careless and burned Zaynie.”
If she had kept her guard up against Nancy Xander, Zaynie would not be burned.
Little Jelly Bean looked up with her tiny face and asked, “Then, is brother’s injuries serious?’
“Shouldn’t be, but his hand could not be in contact with water for a while.”
As they reached downstairs, Little Jelly Bean said childishly, “Squat down, Monty.”
Verian Mont was a little confused, however, she did as the little rascal said. She squatted and Little Jelly Bean began touching her head with her soft white hands and said, “Monty, I know you didn’t mean to hurt brother. Don’t feel sad Monty.”
