Arm in arm, Xylean and Verian walked out of the cafeteria with Yandel following behind them.
Although Yandel did not utter a word, Verian could sense the depressing, cold aura radiating behind her!
Xylean was walking and playing with her phone, her head lowered. From a glance, Verian realized that Xylean had accepted all the friend requests from the classmates who were hitting on her at the cafeteria just now.
Verian genuinely found Xylean to be quite daring. At the very least, she did not have the guts and courage to do such a thing in front of Heaton. Otherwise, he would break her into two.
Sigh… As the saying went, everyone was treated differently in life. There was such a huge disparity between Xylean and Verian in regard to the consequences they would receive if they were both in the same situation.
Verian started to envy Xylean who could do whatever she wished in front of Yandel.
When they almost arrived at the hostel lobby, Xylean suddenly said to Verian, “Oh right, you guys should go home soon. I need to return to my dormitory so I won’t send you guys off. Verian, remember to visit me if you’re free in these next two days.”
Verian startled. “Aren’t you following us back? My mom misses you a lot, I think.”
Yandel furrowed his brows slightly. He then asked Xylean in a chilly tone. “Today is Friday. What are you planning to do in the hostel if you aren’t thinking of going home?”
Was she planning to go on a date with one of the classmates who hit on her just now?
Xylean knew he was angry at her. However, she wanted him to explode with rage and so, she shrugged and fearlessly said, “Mr. Soan, you better choose your words wisely. That’s your house and not mine.”
Yandel pursed his lips tightly, his eyes flaring. “Xylean—”
“If there’s nothing else, I should head back to my dormitory.”
Xylean ran into the hostel building without looking back.
Yandel pinched his brows and felt a little fidgety. However, he was helpless about it as he owed her too much.
Verian cautiously asked, “How about you go and coax Leannie, brother? Girls… If you give them the cold treatment, of course they won’t want to reconcile with you.”
Yandel’s gaze turned cold. He glanced at the woman’s retreating figure and answered, “It’s okay, don’t mind her. Let’s go home first. Mom is waiting for us.”
…
Yale was in charge of driving this time. Both Yandel and Verian sat in the back seat of the car.
Yandel leaned to the left against the window. He lowered his head slightly and massaged the area around his brows. There seemed to be many intrusive thoughts in his mind.
The one who gave him a major headache was naturally Xylean.
Verian pursed her lips. She could not help but comfort him. “Brother, if you want to reconcile with Xylean, you have to be patient with her. Xylean is a reasonable person. We’re both girls and I can feel that she still loves you.”
Pff—Yale who was at the driver seat scoffed at what Verian had said. “Young lady, you don’t understand Ms. Xylean. She talks reasonably with everyone except our second young master.”
Yandel closed his eyes for a moment and reprimanded Yale. “Shut up. Focus on driving!”
“Alright then. I’ll drive and zip my mouth.” Yale smacked his lips.
Verian felt helpless too. As an outsider, she could not judge which party was right or wrong when it came to relationships. One was willing to fight while the other was willing to suffer. Love was pathetic and could bring disgrace to people who were in love.
As she deliberated upon this, she wondered how Serene was right now.
…
It was almost dinner time when they reached Gaunt Mansion.
Although Verian had eaten with Xylean in the school cafeteria, she had to eat a little out of courtesy upon seeing how content Madam Gaunt was.
Yandel had not had anything for dinner yet. However, after eating a few bites, he lost his appetite.
“I’m done eating. Take your time.”
After that, Yandel went upstairs to his study room. He probably went to handle his work-related matters.
