Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 442

Serene received a text message from an unknown number.

It was an intimate photo of a couple, and she could feel the intensity of their intimacy through her phone.

The man in the photo was Wilson.

The woman with him in the photo was his wife, Ruby.

Even though she knew that it was normal for a married couple to exhibit intimacy, she still gripped her phone until her fingers paled.

She knew that Ruby wanted to pressure her.

Serene immediately blocked the number.

She did not want to receive any further messages about Ruby and Wilson.

Wilson woke up with a splitting headache the next morning. Then he noticed that Ruby was there as well, and she was walking around in his white shirt.

"You're finally awake. I made Tremella porridge. Do you want to have some?"

Wilson's face turned bitter as he stared at her with a cold, menacing gaze. "Who allowed you to wear my shirt?"

"What's the matter? Have you forgotten what you did to me last night?"

"Ruby Luna, don't take me for a fool. I am not an idiot. How could I possibly have any energy to do anything with you when I was completely wasted?"

Wilson glared at her before he got out of bed. Then he calmly said, "I'll take my shower now. I don't want to see you ever again when I'm done."

Ruby blocked his way and stared at him with an arrogant gaze.

Wilson frowned. There was fury in his eyes as he said, "What do you want?"

The woman stared back at him before she unbuttoned his shirt. "I want to continue where we left off last night."

"Crazy wench!"

Wilson shoved her away from him before he went into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.

Ruby got up and walked to the washroom as well. She wanted to go in after him, but she realized that the door was locked.

Did he really hate her that much?

Even though Serene had only started working at the Second Hospital, she had picked up a few night shifts in a row. That night, she had completed her tasks, changed into her casual clothes, and was just about to leave when they wheeled a patient into the hospital building.

When Serene looked at the gurney, she realized that the patient was Wilson.

He looked inhumanly pale as the medical staff wheeled him into the emergency theater.

Serene trembled, but she managed to grab hold of a random nurse. "What happened to that man?"

"Oh, his stomach hemorrhaged. It looks pretty serious too!'

His stomach hemorrhaged…

Serene walked home in a daze.

She was cooking some instant noodles as she stood by the kitchen counter. A sudden shot of pain snapped her out of the trance; she had accidentally spilled some boiling water onto her hand.

She was a big fan of instant noodles, and she had been starving too. However, she no longer had any appetite to eat; not even the noodles' delicious aroma could entice her.

She kept seeing Wilson on the gurney.

She shook her head. It was all too bothersome for her. Even if Wilson was in a serious medical condition, his wife should be the one tending to him. Why should she worry about him?

When she finished her food, she showered and laid in her bed. She was unsure if she had overthought the situation, but she could not sleep. She tossed and turned the whole night as sleep eluded her.

Wilson…would be okay, right?

Serene woke up remarkably early the next day, and thus she arrived much earlier than her shift too.

After she changed into her uniform, she rushed to the gastrointestinal department to check Wilson's room number.

It was room 63.

Serene decided to look for the room.
