Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 491

Carter slept on the carpet till late at night and after making sure the woman was already asleep, he gently climbed into the bed.

Helen was not aware when she flipped over and Carter hugged her in his arms.

It was only then did Carter reach out for a small lacey box beside him, opened it and took out the diamond ring. He then grabbed her hand and placed the diamond ring around her ring finger.

The man lowered his head to kiss her forehead before pulling up the covers over himself.

When Helen woke up the next morning, she realized Carter had not left yet.

She rubbed her eyes and noticed the man was staring at her with a warm burning gaze.

Helen mumbled, “Why aren’t you getting ready for work? What time is it?”

“I want to have breakfast with you today.”

Helen nodded and said, “Alright, let’s get up before the old man calls us lazy.”

As she was just about to climb out of bed, Carter pulled her back down and said, “Sleep for a little while longer. We’re not in a hurry today.”

“Okay.”

When Helen raised her arm and was just about to rest her hand on her forehead, she felt a hard object around her ring finger.

She was stunned and when she looked at her hand, she noticed she was wearing a diamond ring. That diamond ring was intricately cut and highly reflective. It looked very expensive.

Helen was stunned for a second as she turned around to look at Carter while asking, “Did you get me this?”

Carter stared intensely at her with his dark eyes. He replied with a smile, “Do you like it?”

No woman would not like receiving a diamond ring especially when it was a gift from the man they loved. Hence, Helen absolutely loved it as she said, “Yeah, I do.”

“Is that your only reaction?”

Carter actually thought she would be so delighted that she would hug his neck and give him a kiss.

Helen smiled and pouted her smirking lips before teasing, “What should I do if you give another woman a diamond ring too? What if you’d give diamond rings away to any women you like?”

Carter stared at her smirking gaze while squinting his dark eyes. He then got on top of her and jokingly asked, “Am I really such a casual man in your heart?”

“So, what you meant to say was, you’re actually serious with Tina?”

Carter’s mood turned serious as he climbed off Helen’s body, laid on the bed while staring at the ceiling as he replied honestly, “Back then, I was serious with Tina before I clearly understood her. If I was just fooling around, wouldn’t I be someone who doesn’t take relationships seriously?”

Helen understood so she leaned closer and hugged Carter’s waist. She then said while pressing her face against his chest, “I understand. It’s Tina’s lost for abandoning you back then. However, I am thankful for Tina not appreciating you or else, how could I have even ran into you?”

Helen raised her little face and smiled at him.

Carter caressed her face with one hand while the other interlocked her hand that had the wedding ring. His gaze looked serious as he said, “The things between Tina and I were the past. I can’t deny the fact that she was once my girlfriend. However, I have myself a Madam Gale and that person is you. I want to spend the rest of my married life with you alone.”

Carter was flirting with Helen early in the morning and Helen could not hold herself back as she asked blushingly, “When did you climb into bed with me last night?”

Carter chuckled and said, “Of course while you were still soundly asleep.”

“You’re so cunning.”

Carter pulled Helen into him while hugging her slender waist as he said, “I can be a little cunning you know.”

Just as the man was about to do the deed with the woman, the door suddenly swung open.

Carter frantically buried Helen underneath the covers while staring at the door with an annoyed look…

Tyler asked with an innocent look, “Dad, did I ruin something special between you and mommy?”

He was asking intentionally even when he already knew the answer to that.

“Knock before you enter next time!”
