Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 516

Verian managed to finish the wedding invitations after working on them for about three to four days. Verian did not know those people who had business connections with Heaton, and hence, she instructed Kush to send out the invitation cards for her. As for Heaton's relatives, she wanted to introduce herself to them. Therefore, she paid a visit to each of his relatives just to send the invitation cards. Fortunately, Heaton did not have many relatives.

"Young Mistress, who should we visit first?"

Verian arranged the invitation cards neatly and glanced at the recipient's name on the first card. "Let's go to Second Uncle's house first."

Second Uncle is Heaton's closest relative, and so, he should be the first to be notified about their wedding.

"All right, Young Mistress. I'll go and get the car now."

As she arrived at James' mansion, she alighted the car. With the invitation card in hand, she walked directly toward the gate.

James was sitting in a wheelchair as he relaxed under the hot sun.

Verian stood by the door, and her mind went blank for a few seconds. As she gazed at the old man, she felt a little uneasy about meeting him.

It had been a year since she had met James. Back then, James had thought that she was his biological daughter. No one expected that it was only a mere misunderstanding.

It was as if James could sense someone was at the entrance. He turned his head toward the gate, and when he saw Verian, his eyes widened in surprise.

"Verian?"

Verian pushed the gate open and stepped into the mansion. She walked toward James and greeted him politely. "Second Uncle."

"Verian, how are you and Heaton doing lately?"

It had been a long time since James saw Verian. Even though he learned that Verian was not his and Jolin's daughter, he still took a liking to her.

"Heaton and I are doing fine, Second Uncle. What about you? Are you in good health?"

"My health is considered stable; there's nothing serious concerning my body."

Verian subconsciously glanced at the second floor. "You're alone at home? Are Second Aunt and Janny at home?"

"I've divorced your second aunt."

Verian bit her lips. "I didn't know that. I'm sorry to hear that, Second Uncle."

"It's all right. Why are you here today?"

James reminded her of her purpose there, and so she handed the wedding invitation card to him. "Heaton and I are holding a wedding ceremony next Saturday. I hope that you can attend it."

"Of course, I will definitely show up at your wedding."

"If there's nothing else, I shall take my leave then. I still have other invitation cards to deliver."

James turned the wheelchair toward her direction and called her. "Verian, even though you're not my biological daughter, I feel like we have a strong connection, and we did hit it off. Even though you're not Jolin's biological daughter, you were once her child. You and Heaton nearly broke up due to my misjudgment. I've never had a chance to apologize to you. Do you still hate me for that?"

Verian smiled and shook her head. "When I first thought that I was your biological daughter, I did hate you. I hated you for making my mom a mistress in your marriage. I hated myself for being your daughter and hated myself for being related to Heaton and the Fudd family. However, it was just a temporary emotion I had. It was only a misunderstanding; I do not hate you anymore since everything was resolved. Besides, I can't fully blame you. Someone had tampered with the paternity test to make a ruckus."

James sighed heavily and nodded in agreement. "I heard that you've found your biological parents. Congratulations."

"Thank you."

Verian came out of the mansion and sighed in relief.

The knot in her heart had finally been untied.

Her driver, Uncle Lewis, opened the car door for her and asked, "Young Mistress, where shall we go next?"
