Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 522

While the crowd was getting ready to go to the hotel for the wedding banquet, Xylean initially wanted to sit in the same car with Serene. However, Wilson dragged Serene into another car before Xylean was able to do anything.

Serene stared at the wedding bouquet in her hands. Her cheeks were slightly flushed in embarrassment.

Suddenly, Wilson inched closer to her and muttered in her ear, “What are you thinking?”

Half-joking, Serene uttered, “Do you know what it implies when one receives a wedding bouquet from the bride?”

Wilson frowned slightly. He was not sure about the reason behind the bouquet toss as he seldom attended weddings. Besides, he was skeptical about superstitious beliefs passed on from generation to generation. However, if Serene was the one who shared the superstitious belief with him, he was willing to gladly listen. “What does it mean?”

The girl gazed into his eyes and spoke in a serious manner, “The woman who receives the wedding bouquet from the bride will soon tie the knot too.”

Wilson was startled momentarily and his eyes soon glinted with mischief. “Baby, are you hinting to me that we should get married soon?”

“... Who-who wants to marry you!”

Feeling embarrassed and irritated, Serene stuffed the flower bouquet into his hands and turned her head toward the window. However, the reflection of a girl beaming happily could be seen from the window.

Meanwhile, Yandel and Xylean were seated at the back seat of a black Bentley. The car ride was in total silence.

After a while, Yandel swept his gaze across the wedding bouquet Xylean was holding. He casually initiated a conversation, “I heard that the person who receives a wedding bouquet from the bride will be the next one getting married.”

Xylean answered him impassively, “Don’t worry. Even if I’m getting married soon, the groom won’t be you, Yandel Soan.”

“Xylean.”

No matter how well-tempered Yandel was, he was infuriated as she went out of line.

Xylean turned her head to look at Yandel’s sullen face. She tittered, “You got angry just because of this? You asked Verian to throw the flower bouquet at me, right? Don’t play such childish moves anymore…”

Suddenly, Yandel grabbed her wrist and hauled her into his embrace. After that, he lowered his head and kissed her in an overbearing manner.

Xylean tightened her fist and hit his shoulder. “Oh… Let go of me!”

It was as if Yandel was trying to take revenge on her. He bit her lips hard, the sweet metallic taste of blood instantly permeating every corner of her mouth and breath. Xylean felt an acute pain from her lips as her eyes teared up.

However, he firmly placed his hand on the back of her neck and leaned his forehead against hers. He then articulated word by word, “Xylean, it’s either you’ll be single for the rest of your life or your only marriage partner will be me.”

“Who do you think you are!” Xylean glared at him.

“Because you’re mine.”

No one would dedicate their life for someone else.

Xylean gritted her teeth and exclaimed, “However, the thing I want is your life!”

He owed her brother, Richard, a life!

Yandel took a deep breath and brushed his nose against hers. Slowly, he closed his eyes and murmured in a raspy voice. “One day, I’ll return his life to you. However, before that, can we just try to get along?”

‘Even if it’s just an act of sympathy,’ Yandel thought in his mind.

Xylean closed her eyes too. She did not want to and dared not look at his face.

Yandel was an arrogant person. His arrogance was deeply ingrained and encoded in his genes since birth. Before Richard’s accident, Yandel’s arrogance was an undefiable pressure on Xylean. However, as she thought of the past, there was a part of her that did not dislike Yandel. After Richard passed away, Yandel’s arrogance was not worth more than a penny in front of Xylean. In fact, Xylean found his insignificant arrogance ludicrous.
