The very next afternoon after their wedding, Heaton and Verian went to South City along with Little Jelly Bean and Little Pickle.
Little Jelly Bean was happily chattering during their trip to South City. She clasped her hands together. “Great, I can finally meet uncle again! Uncle once told me that he’d bring me to eat the best ice cream in the city when I visit South City!”
Verian pinched the little girl’s cheeks and smiled. “You’ll definitely gain weight after staying here for a few days. Grandma and uncle will definitely prepare some good delicacies that are just waiting for you.”
“I won’t. I’ll just eat small amounts for all the food they’ve prepared!”
During their journey, Heaton was in a great mood upon hearing the conversation between his wife and daughter.
As they arrived at South City, Yandel’s assistant picked them up from the airport.
Yale opened the car door for them and smiled. “Miss, Young Master, let’s go. Second Young Master is a little busy with his work, so he asked me to send you guys home first.”
Heaton nodded slightly and got into the car together with Verian and Little Jelly Bean.
It was Little Jelly Bean’s first visit to South City. As such, she was full of excitement and curiosity toward the city.
The little girl rested her head by the window and looked at the scenery outside. “Monty, does this place have more fun things to do than our home city?”
Yale who was driving overheard Little Jelly Bean’s question and chuckled at her. “Jelly Bean, what do you like to play?”
“I like to ride on the Ferris wheel and merry-go-round! Dad promised me that he’d let me play bumper cars the next time. However, I have yet to play it until now!”
As Heaton heard his daughter grumbling about him, he lifted his hand and rubbed her forehead. “I’ll bring you to the funfair when we’re back in the city, alright?”
Although Yale was a carefree person, he was very fond of children, especially adorable ones like Little Jelly Bean.
“Young master, if you aren’t free, I can bring Little Jelly Bean to the funfair and take her on a bumper car ride.”
Little Jelly squinted her eyes in joy the moment she heard Yale’s conversation with Heaton. “Uncle Yale, I love you so much!”
“Uncle Yale likes Little Jelly Bean too.”
Verian smiled at their interaction and looked at Little Jelly Bean. “You’re such a quirky child.”
…
They chatted happily along their way back to the Gaunt Family Mansion.
As Yandel was not home yet, Yannis was alone at home with her housemaids.
She was exercising in the yard while waiting for Heaton and Verian’s arrival.
The moment they arrived, Little Jelly Bean hopped out of the car and pranced toward Yannis. “Grandma!”
As Yannis heard an innocent voice shouting from afar, she turned around and saw a little, adorable figure running toward her.
Yannis bent her waist and carried Little Jelly Beans into her arms.
She looked at Little Jelly Bean with a kind and loving gaze. “Hey, my sweetheart is here. Did you miss grandma?”
Little Jelly Bean answered thoughtfully. “But grandma, we just met yesterday and you even kissed me a few times!”
“That was yesterday. Today is today. I miss you so much every day.”
Little Jelly Bean rested her hands on Yannis’s neck. “I miss grandma every day too.”
Heaton and Verian walked toward them, Yale following after them with their luggage in hand.
Yannis shifted her gaze toward the husband and wife duo. “Heaton, Riana, just spend a few days more at South City since you guys are here now. I’m quite lonely here.”
