Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 534

Verian snuck back into the front section from the back to go to sleep after an hour.

Linny had not slept yet and was playing with her phone. After taking a glance at Verian, she noticed her hair was wet and it seemed like she had taken another shower.

Linny randomly asked, “Why’d you take another shower?”

Verian brushed her question off as she said, “Oh, I was a bit sweaty since the RV’s a bit humid on the inside.”

Linny did not probe further and was already lying on the couch. She noticed Verian lying on the little bed while pulling the covers over herself. She could not hold herself back from asking, “Where’s your husband sleeping tonight?”

“At the seats at the back.”

“Ah… Well, that’s not good. Why don’t I sleep on the seats and you can have him sleep here?”

Verian replied with a smile, “There’s no need for that. He’s a man and should act like a gentleman. You don’t have to feel bad.”

As she laid on the couch, Linny lamented, “Oh, I’m envious of you, Verian. Your husband sure is perfect.”

Verian’s phone chimed next to her. It was a text from Heaton…

“Good night, Madam Fudd.”

Somehow, Verian blushed after reading those four simple words.

Good night… Did he actually think she would still be able to sleep tonight?

This man was perfect? He was nothing more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing!

Verian blushed slightly while clutching her phone. She stared at the roof of the car and spoke with a smile, “Other people’s husbands would often look far more perfect in other people’s eyes.”

Linny disagreed as she said, “No way. Your husband is so handsome and even treats you so well. How is that not perfect?”

Furthermore, the fact that they could travel to Europe and America on vacation in an RV proved how wealthy the man was. In addition to his attractive appearance and excellent body, he was the literal definition of a capable and perfect man from the novels she had read.

When Verian thought about his horrible temper, she replied with a smile, “My husband has a really bad temper so don’t be fooled by his attractive and handsome looks. It’s impossible for anyone to be perfect in this world.”

Verian made that remark to prevent any other women out there from having feelings for Heaton. On the other hand, she was also speaking the truth since no other women out would be able to get along with Heaton anyway.

Heaton was a workaholic and would work over 70 hours a week. There would be at least four to five nights in a month when he was out drinking for business. Returning home reeking of cigarettes and sometimes perfume on his body was normal since business-related dinners would normally have a few hostesses present throughout the meal. In all honesty, he spent less time with his family in comparison to normal working-class people. Verian had no idea how she actually got along with Heaton but she had already been with him for so long now and was not complaining anyway.

Heaton was required to go on overseas business trips sometimes as well, so it was normal for them to be apart for five to ten days. Although they had a babysitter at home when Verian had to take care of two children, it would be much better if he were home instead. Fortunately for her, her children were quite obedient and well-behaved. However, that did not mean that Verian would not get mad at her children if their tantrums turned out to be too much to handle. This was because everyone had their own limits.

However, when Heaton returned from his business trips and would give her just a single hug, Verian could not help herself from feeling bad for him having to work so hard abroad to provide for them, rushing back home afterward. He may not have even gotten a good night’s sleep in over 24 hours. Previously, she had secretly lamented and complained about having to deal with their children alone.

Perhaps, that was love.

It was all because of love that she chose to tolerate and forgive him so easily.

Moreover, Heaton’s temper was sometimes extremely horrible and unstable. Because of this, Verian’s life felt similar to walking on eggshells since she usually had no idea how she had offended him. Sometimes, he could even ignore her for more than ten hours because of this. If she were any other woman, it was very unlikely that they would tolerate Heaton’s ‘cold outbursts’.

However, Verian was completely unbothered by his outbursts because Heaton was usually unable to keep ignoring her past ten hours since he would question her with such a cold look on why she had not bothered comforting him when he was mad.
