Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 56

John was holding onto his dragon head crutch made out of rosewood. His face turned dark and solemn. “Heaton Fudd, this is not simply about 45 million, it’s 45 million dollars. You’re so willing to sacrifice for this woman, aren’t you?!”

Nancy on one side was trying to become the ‘peacemaker’, “Father, don’t be angry. Verian didn’t mean to mess up the contracts on purpose.”

The old master did not calm down upon hearing her words. He got even more infuriated instead. Holding himself with his crutch, he stood up and glared at Verian. “If she didn’t make such an outrageous howler on purpose, then she did it intentionally!”

The old master was downright suspecting her. He might even think that she was a spy sent by their competitors.

Nancy picked the perfect time to snitch on her. The old master did not like her in the first place but now it was even more impossible for him to accept her.

John snorted coldly, turned around, and left the living room. It was as though he was trying to say ‘out of sight, out of mind’.

Nancy even pretended to be kind and tried to console her, “Verian, your father is just acting out in a fit of anger. You made a huge mistake this time. Wait for a few days and apologize to father after he cools down.”

Verian shot her a cold glare. “You know very well who made the mistake. The one who caused Fudd Group to lose 45 million is not me.”

She was uninterested in passing the buck around, let alone staying in the same room as Nancy and Heaton, who was protecting Nancy. She went to the second floor immediately.

Only Heaton and Nancy were left in the living room. Nancy tried to probe Heaton in a soft voice, “Heaton, is Verian angry at me?”

Wearing a cold expression, Heaton replied indifferently, “Isn’t it normal for her to be angry at you?”

Nancy was a little dazed. She saw Heaton follow Verian upstairs. Behind his nonchalant tone, she faintly felt that he was also angry at her.

He was angry at her because of Verian?

The woman was standing by the window, sulking when Heaton pushed open the door and came in.

He walked over, and instantly, she spoke angrily, “I already handed in my resignation letter. I hope President Fudd will allow me to resign. After all, you all wanted me to compensate 300 million this time. Who knows if you guys will ask me to compensate 500 million or even a billion bucks next time. I can’t afford it.”

Who knew if Nancy would incriminate her again? If the amount of money is larger next time, she would not be able to compensate for the loss even if she sold herself.

Heaton’s dark eyes stared straight at her venting her anger and thought she looked funny. His thin lips curved upwards slightly. “Did I say I want you to compensate 300 million?”

“Yes, you did! You clearly said you want me to compensate 300 million…”

She was starting to suspect whether Heaton and Nancy joined hands to rip her off.

“Didn’t I tell you that you could pay back physically?”

The man’s dark eyes were looking attentively at the woman’s small face. Verian’s heart skipped a beat.

Moments ago, he was helping Nancy so that the old master misunderstood her. Damn it, now she was having the hots after hearing what he said!

“Who, who said I wanted to pay you back physically! I did not make the mistake, why should I take the blame? I shouldn’t be the one to compensate for the 300 million bucks! Heaton Fudd, if you really like Nancy and want to protect her, then you should make things clear with the old master earlier. I’m only here to put on a show. Otherwise, Nancy will keep picking on me…”
