Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 64

Verian was kissed until panting. As her eyes looked clear, she stared at him with a flushed face. "H-Have you heard what I just said?"

The man stared at her with an ignorant look. "What did you say?"

"I..."

She said that she liked him. Did he hear it or not?

As she looked at him in his eyes now, she did not have the courage at all to say that sentence again. Her spirit was half faded, and she lost the mood that she had just now. "Nothing."

It was true that she kind of liked him now, but she had not loved him yet. Thus, it was not crucial to tell him again.

She shrank her body and moved aside, simply wanting to sleep. Unexpectedly, there was a sullen male voice behind her. "It’s just that you like me. Why don't you dare to admit it?"

His natural tone that was at ease did not intend to cover up anything. This made Verian feel like burying herself into the ground. He obviously heard it, but he pretended that he was sleeping!

She was not that kind of girl who was shy. However, Heaton was too straightforward. Had he considered that she was a girl?

Heaton raised his arms to embrace her into his arms, and his voice sounded calm. "Sleep."

"..."

He was really acting as if nothing had happened!

It was a confession! No matter whether he liked her or not, shouldn't he reply to her to show his manner?

Verian felt distressed and entangled for a while, and finally fell asleep in Heaton's arms in a blurred mind.

...

After resting for a day in the clinic on the mountain, Verian's body improved a lot, both physically and mentally.

After she changed her clothes, Heaton packed up the luggage and said softly, "Let's go to a nearby restaurant for a meal before we leave."

She was a little surprised. "Is there a restaurant here?"

In a noodle restaurant that was operated by a local, there was a big crowd for lunch hour that the seats were full. The environment and hygiene conditions were not too good.

Verian did not mind about it. She often ate in this kind of small restaurant, but Heaton may not be able to adapt to it. After all, he was to save her to come here to 'suffer'. Verian was not so ungrateful, so she reached out to slightly pull his sleeve. "If you do not like this restaurant, we can explore other restaurants."

As soon as she said, her stomach shamelessly made a sound.

Awkwardly, Verian touched her stomach. Heaton looked at her with his deep eyes, and he said, "We can just eat here. But, there's no seat anymore. You go outside to find a clean spot to sit, I'll get the noodles."

Five minutes later, Heaton came out with two bowls of beef noodle soup and joined Verian to sit on the staircase next to the restaurant.

Verian held the big noodle bowl and stirred the noodles inside with a pair of chopsticks. There were only a little noodles. She could not stand but frowned and complained. "It's such a big bowl, but there was a lot of soup and very little noodles."

The bowl was much bigger than the size of her face, but the noodles inside was just enough for her appetite. Heaton was a man, so the noodles were obviously not enough for him.

Verian thought—she may not be able to finish walking the long mountain journey later all by herself, and she might need to bother Mr. Fudd to carry her on the back. Thus, she used the chopsticks to put a lot of noodles into Heaton's bowl.

"I can't eat that much. You eat more."

The man curved up his lips and looked at her as he felt funny. "Just now, you complained there were too little noodles. Now, you think that you can't eat that much?"

"You'll probably have to carry me on the back later. If you don't eat more, how can we get out of here?"

The smiling curve in Heaton's eyes grew deeper. "Ms. Mont, when did I say I would carry you?"

Verian's big eyes moved as she thought, and she gave the beef from her bowl to him with a smiling face. "Last night, you said so in your dream."

"It's the first time for me to know that I'd speak in my dream."

As Verian was putting the food into his bowl, Heaton frowned and suddenly called her. "Ms. Mont."

"Hm?"
