Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 652

Guin kicked the pub door open; she saw Yanni lying on the sofa depressingly, drunk as a skunk.

She rushed toward him, grabbed him by the collar, and yelled, "Yanni Quain! Look at yourself! Is it worth it, ruining yourself over a woman? Sam has left you for almost six months now, and you're still not over her?"

Yanni pushed her away, but Guin was determined. She said resolutely, "I'm sending you home!"

Yanni pushed her away again. "I'm not drunk; I don't need your help."

"How can you drive in this state? You want to end up in a crash?"

Yanni stayed silent. He walked out; he was not drunk; his mind was still clear.

He knew that was Guin. It was late, and yet there was not a single call from home.

Lucy clearly did not care about him.

Guin had tried to pursue him for almost six months. He also tried to be with her to forget about the other woman who did not love him. However, no matter how he tried, he realized that his heart could never belong to another person again.

His heart had Sam, but it might have Lucy, as well. He was confused and conflicted.

Yanni sat in the back seat as Guin drove. She constantly looked at him through the rearview mirror. She could not help but take a jab at him, "How did I not realize that you were a romantic?"

Ever since that woman had left, Yanni had tried to drink his feelings away. He turned to alcohol to numb his feelings.

Guin muttered to herself, "What does that woman have that I don't? She's not that beautiful, and I'm not half as bad. What do you see in her?"

Yanni chuckled—half-serious and half self-deprecatingly. "If I knew, I would've changed a lover quickly."

Guin nodded in agreement. "Yeah, like you. You have been such a troublemaker lately; you even framed Heaton and Verian. And yet, here I am, pursuing you. Fate is such a funny thing."

Suddenly, Yanni said with a severe tone, "Guin."

"What?"

"Please stop wasting your time on me. You are a good woman."

Guin was in disbelief. She pursed her lips and said, "What's wrong with good women? Who decided that a good woman can't fall for bad men?"

Yanni looked at Guin through the rearview mirror. They locked eyes as he said, "Good women like you should not pursue someone like me who has another person in his heart. You will only end up hurting yourself."

"Whether I get hurt or not has nothing to do with you. Anyway, Sam is not back yet. That means I still have a chance. I go for whomever I want. I will just try harder if you continue to reject me."

Yanni sighed out of reluctance and exhaustion. "What if I told you that Sam is back?"

He said that just as they reached the mansion entrance.

Guin was shocked. She slammed the brakes. "What did you say?"

"Sam is back."

"So?"

Yanni pursed his lips; he looked grimly at her and said, "So, don't waste your time on me."

Guin laughed. "Are you guys married? Are you a couple now? As long as you're not married, I still have a chance. Everyone has the right to chase after whomever they want. Why do I need to back off since Sam is back? I will tell you now, Yanni, I will not back off. Not until you and Sam are married."
