Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 656

At the Fudd Family Mansion.

Heaton lit fireworks in the yard. Little Jelly Bean held Little Pickle's hand; they stood from afar and covered their ears. They were delighted to see the night sky painted with assorted colors.

Verian came out from the house and hugged both of them with each side of her arms as she laughed. "Little Jelly Bean, did you make a wish?"

"Not yet! I'll do it now!"

Little Jelly Bean held her hands together, closed her eyes, and muttered inaudibly. When she was done, she opened her eyes and exclaimed, "Monty, I'm done!"

Verian pinched her cheek. "What did you wish for?"

"I wished that Grandpa, Daddy, Monty, and Little Brother would be happy together forever!"

Verian smiled and looked at her daughter, lovingly. "We will."

Heaton lit the last of the fireworks before he walked toward them. Verian smiled at him.

"Let's go in; it's time for dinner."

Little Jelly Bean had not had enough fireworks, so she asked, "Daddy, do we still have any fireworks left? I still want to see more!"

"Yes, we do. Grandpa knew that you like fireworks, so he bought you sparklers that you can hold in your hand!"

"Cool! Can Little Pickle play too?"

Heaton patted her head. "Little Pickle is still too young, maybe in a few years."

"Then I shall play on his behalf." Little Jelly Bean giggled.

Verian said, "You can play with Zaynie; he's coming over for dinner!"

Heaton looked at Verian and asked softly, "It seems like you've come to accept your sister-in-law?"

"Nancy is part of the Fudd family, no matter what. Even though I may not like her, I will not take it out on Zaynie. He is an innocent boy. Of course, I would not stop Little Jelly Bean from playing with him."

Heaton hugged her waist and laughed. "When we're done with dinner, we'll leave immediately. That way, you don't have to deal with her."

"Leave? Back to Shallow Bay? Aren't we staying around to watch the New Year's Eve concert with your father? "

Heaton frowned. "You must be getting old; your memory is getting worse. Didn't I tell you I was bringing you somewhere tonight?"

"Why are you so secretive? Please don't tell me it's to light more fireworks on the icy river?"

"Have I ever been that dull?"

"..."

Heaton thought about it before he half-jokingly said, "But if you want to, we can do that too. Well, if you're not afraid of the police."

Verian smiled. "Getting caught by the police on New Year's Eve doesn't sound too good."

After dinner, Heaton and Verian accompanied the rest of the family to watch the New Year's Eve concert.

Not long after that, they put on their coats and sneaked out when no one noticed it.

The Black Spyker left the mansion; Verian laughed and said, "Right, Mr. Fudd, where are you bringing your wife?"

"You'll know it when we reach there."

"Such a tease!"

The journey took about half an hour. They stopped at a row of shops.

Verian was confused; it was New Year's Eve, so the shops were all closed. "Why did you bring me here?"

Heaton got down, went to the other side, and opened the door for her.

He stood behind her and covered her eyes.
