The rain was getting heavier at this time. The rescue team was lacking manpower.
The rescue teams have all gone up in different teams.
The rescue team told Lucy that they will try their best to seek for Yanni. However, Lucy was still very worried, so she decided to go up the hill herself.
She wore a raincoat along with a pair of rain boots, holding a torchlight in her hand. As she walked along the path, she called out for Yanni.
However, it was not an easy task to climb up the hill in this heavy rain as the road was slippery and muddy. It was as if she was walking on a frozen pond surface. Each and every step drained a lot of Lucy’s energy and awareness.
Lucy did not have the energy to cry. She needed to save as much energy as she could to rescue Yanni. She screamed as loud as she could, but the path was muddy and she was very afraid. She ignored all of her fears with her intention to rescue Yanni and gathered as much courage as she could.
Yanni Quain, where are you…
It was 4 o’clock in the morning, but the sky was still dark.
Lucy herself did not remember how long she had been walking for. Her legs started to shiver. Suddenly, she tripped, and slipped down the hill.
“Ahhhh…”
She rolled down the cliff and landed on a bush. She held onto a tree as hard as she could as below her was a steep cliff.
She was not that high up, but the fall would still break her leg if she fell. Also, if she fell, it might harm her child as well…
She looked below her and was shocked. Her hand accidentally slipped and was scratched. She slid further away from the tree.
She carefully looked upward at the tree branch that she was hanging from. The branch would probably break within 20 minutes and she would tumble down the cliff.
Lucy lost hope as she looked at the branch. She started tearing up.
At this moment, her mind did not think to seek help. Instead, images of her and Yanni’s moments together flooded her mind.
Every image seemed like a movie, and each and every one of them brought unforgettable memories to her.
Right at the moment where the branch Lucy held was about to break, she heard a loud sound in the distance.
“There’s a light source! We have to quickly head there.”
It was the light from Lucy’s torchlight.
Lucy looked for the source of the sound. The intention to survive that was long gone was finally back. She shouted as loud as she could, “Help! Help… Is somebody there?”
Yanni was nearby and he was taken aback.
That sound… It was Lucy’s.
Yanni stood in his spot and listened. A moment later, he quickly ran toward the source of the sound. He looked downward, and it really was Lucy.
“Lucy!”
He lowered his arm and grabbed Lucy’s hand.
Lucy thought that she was starting to see things. In her blurry vision, she saw Yanni’s handsome face clearly, so clear that it felt unreal.
Lucy mumbled, “Yanni…”
Was it really Yanni?
Yanni grabbed onto her tightly as he used all of his energy he had. Yanni ordered, “Hold onto me tightly! Give me your other hand as well!”
Lucy was dizzy. She slowly lifted her other arm up, until Yanni held onto both of her hands.
After Yanni dragged Lucy up, the both of them fell onto a mud pile nearby. Yet, Yanni’s hand never let go of Lucy’s. He protected her with his whole body. He acted as her human pillow and hugged her tightly yet carefully.
