Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 707

Blaine was already sitting at the dining table with an extremely bitter look by the time Ruby returned to the Kingswood Mansion. He seemed so furious, as if he would explode in anger at any moment.

Ruby was trying to play dumb as she cautiously held onto a few shopping bags. However, Blaine was not planning to let her off the hook so easily.

Blaine took a look at the time from his watch and coldly questioned her, “7:15 p.m. Now, what did I say before you headed out earlier?”

Ruby did not even have the time to put her shopping bags down as she stood near the dining table. She intended to make it up to Blaine since not only did she cause Blaine trouble by starting a feud with the princess, but she also returned home later than she should.

However, both Blaine’s and her temperament were similar to each other. She could not stand being questioned. Since Blaine did not allow her the chance to explain herself, Ruby felt a little agitated at this moment.

Her initial guilt immediately turned into anger as she looked up and tried to argue, “You told me to return before dinner, Blaine. It’s only slightly after seven so, it’s not too late for dinner anyway.”

Blaine was holding his anger back as he sat by the table.

Aunt Heather was trembling as she stood by the table. She secretly took a couple of glances at Blaine to gauge his mood before she frantically whispered to Ruby, “Miss Softie, Master Blaine has been waiting for you for…”

Before Aunt Heather could finish, Blaine suddenly got up from his chair and coldly interrupted Aunt Heather, “Throw all this food away!”

Aunt Heather stuttered, “... Sure.”

Blaine did not stop when he walked past Ruby.

When Blaine arrived at the study on the second floor, he slammed the door shut. Ruby could feel her eardrums tremble when the door was slammed shut.

How much pent up anger did the man have in his heart to explode like this? Should he even react this way when she was only slightly more than ten minutes late anyway?

Men sure were unreasonable.

It was only then did Ruby toss the shopping bags from the high-end mall onto the couch before flinging her arms around as she exclaimed, “Wow, I’m exhausted from spending the entire afternoon shopping. Oh, Aunt Heather, could you not throw the food away? Since Blaine won’t eat it, I’ll eat it then.”

Aunt Heather replied, “... Miss Softie, you sure are bold.”

After Ruby washed her hands, she sat by the dinning table as she said, “What should I do then? Should I also starve with Blaine?”

Aunt Heaton could not help but lament, “You know it’s very normal for Master Blaine to get mad right? He never waited for anyone before. Heck, even the president of R Country has never asked him to wait. It’s perfectly reasonable for anyone else to wait an hour or two for Master Blaine since only he was allowed to be late in the past. Oh Miss Softie, did you know that you’ve made Master Blaine wait nearly an hour for you today? The food is already cold, let me heat them up for you.”

Ruby pouted her lips as she said, “That’s why he got mad. It seems he has waited for nearly an hour. It’s true that I’ve made him wait for nearly an hour but come on, it’s nothing more than an hour. Shouldn’t men be waiting for women to show that they’re in fact a gentleman? That shouldn’t warrant such a huge reaction from him anyway.”

“If he’s a regular man, I don’t think such a reaction is necessary but the person that waited for you, Miss Softie isn’t a regular man. That is a man that even the president of R Country respected and waited for. Oh Miss Softie, you should head upstairs and cheer him up.”

Ruby’s immediate reaction was to refuse and shake her head as she said, “I’m no fool. He’s still extremely angry right now. If I head up now, wouldn’t I be pointing the gun directly at my head? I won’t be able to do a thing if he throws me into the Glacier River.”

In order to keep herself alive, she should not provoke that prideful man for now.

Aunt Heather replied with a laugh as she stared at her, “Oh Miss Softie. You don’t understand Master Blaine well enough. Have you never made Master Blaine mad ever since you started living in the Kingswood Mansion? You’ve made him mad countless times before and yet Master Blaine didn’t exactly do anything to you. Come on now, the worst that he could do to you is give you a cold bitter look.”
