Blaine headed out while Ruby was still asleep early in the morning.
When Ruby finally woke up for breakfast, Blaine was nowhere to be seen downstairs. She decided to ask Aunt Heather, “Where did Blaine wander off to? He’s nowhere to be seen since early this morning.”
Aunt Heather replied, “I noticed Master Blaine heading out after receiving a phone call. He might be going for a meeting at the president’s office.”
Ruby’s brows twitched as she thought about just how much of a workaholic Blaine was. How could he not even take a break on the weekends?
While Ruby was eating breakfast, Aunt Heather could not help but say, “Miss Softie, the truth is… today is Master Blaine’s birthday.”
Ruby was stunned as she said, “... Oh, his birthday eh…”
Upon noticing Ruby was starting to think about something, Aunt Heather immediately said, “Miss Softie, the truth is, Master Blaine doesn't really celebrate his birthday. However, this house was too quiet before you came, Miss Softie, and it’s been too long since any celebrations were held. If you could bake a cake for Master Blaine to celebrate his birthday, I’m sure he will be really happy.”
“But will the cake I make even be edible?”
She was worried about poisoning Blaine. However, in a much different thought, if she actually poisoned Blaine with his birthday cake, it would have saved her a world of trouble and the Light Organization would not even have to do a thing.
Aunt Heather laughed as she stared at her serious look. She said, “I’ll teach you, Miss Softie. I’m sure the cake that you make will taste amazing.”
Ruby was completely fine with that idea so she said, “Sure, show me how to bake at noon.”
“Alright. However, Miss Softie, since we’re giving Master Blaine a surprise, he must not know about it. Could you call him and ask when he is going to come home later?”
“How troublesome. Sure, I’ll do it.”
Ruby picked up a sandwich as she said that. She walked upstairs while munching on her sandwich.
When she arrived at her room, she gave Blaine a call while she ate the sandwich.
Ruby asked when the call was connected, “Hey Blaine, when are you coming home today?”
Blaine who was currently in the black Bentley raised his brows as he thought about how rare it was for her to personally call him.
“What’s the matter? Miss me?”
Ruby was sitting on a recliner in the room while a pair of beautiful legs were resting on the desk as she casually shook them around. She replied without feeling bashful, “Yeah, I missed you dearly. I really want you to come home sooner. I’m so bored at home, I’m starting to count ants.”
