Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 796

With her head and arms resting on the bar counter, Cherie swiped across the phone screen with her wobbly fingers to answer Boyle’s call.

With her slurred words, she yelled arrogantly at the phone, “Hello! Is this Boyle!”

Boyle noticed her unusual tone over the phone and could hear a loud clamor in the background. Based on her slurred speech, he immediately assumed that she was at a bar.

“Where are you?” Boyle asked as he furrowed his brows.

“Hmph! Who cares where I am! Let me tell you, Boyle! From today onward, I refuse to have feelings for you anymore! Listen carefully, Boyle! I hate you from here on out and won’t like you anymore!”

Her words were gibberish.

Whitney who was sitting beside Cherie laughed and gave her a thumbs-up. “Well done, Goddess Cher! Tell him to go and die!”

“Yeah! Die!”

Cherie felt dizzy since she had drunk too much. Afterward, she threw her phone on the bar counter.

She rested her head on the counter again. With her eyes closed, she muttered, “Boyle… I don’t want to like you anymore… Never again…”

However, why did she feel downhearted even in her drunken state? She felt so down and stuffy like her heart was being wrapped with an airtight plastic bag.

Boyle’s furrow deepened as he could not hear Cherie’s voice over the phone.

“Cherie? Cher?”

In her drunken voice, the girl murmured over the phone, “Boyle… Don’t call me! You’re not allowed to call me that… Never… You don’t like me… Leave me alone!”

Boyle was at loss for words.

His face darkened at her retort toward him.

“Cherie, where exactly are you?”

Cherie was already befuddled. She acted unexceptionally wilful. “Hmph! I’m not gonna tell you! What are you gonna do with that… Who asked you not to like me… I don’t want to care about you anymore… Go away!”

Cherie hovered her finger over the phone screen and accidentally pressed on the end-call button, causing it to end abruptly.

Boyle clasped tightly onto the phone. He did not want to even bother about this stuff but he was losing his mind.

It was full of thoughts of Cherie getting drunk alone in the bar. If someone were to hit on her…

Suddenly, Jennifer’s case flashed through his mind. His eyes darkened in anger.

The people who went to bars were dodgy, so it was a common occurrence for one’s drink to be spiked.

Boyle became more anxious the more he thought about it. He could feel his palms becoming sweaty.

Just as he was about to leave his house, his phone rang again and this time, it was from Huntley.

“Hey, Boyle, I bumped into Cher and her friend at my family’s pub. The two of them are completely wasted.”

Boyle’s eyes gleamed. “Which pub? I’ll head there right away.”

“It’s the Extreme Pub. You better hurry. The two of them nearly got groped just now. Fortunately, I was there to prevent it from happening.”

Boyle took a cab to the Extreme Pub.

It was fall soon and the weather was cool in the capital. As Boyle hastily arrived at the pub, a sheen of sweat glistened on his forehead.

He rushed into the pub to look for Cherie. When he spotted her sleeping peacefully on the bar counter, his palpitating heart was gradually put at ease.

There was calm in his eyes again.
