A black Maybach was waiting outside of North City airport.
Heaton got out of the car when he noticed Cherie getting out of the airport with a baseball cap while dragging her luggage behind her.
Harrison got out from the back seat.
"Over here, sis!"
Heaton walked over to her. He opened his arms with a huge smile while staring intensely at his daughter.
She rarely returned home in the last seven years and they very rarely got to meet. It seemed she only missed her family more as days went by.
Anything could change except for her relationship with her family.
Cherie buried herself in her father's embrace while the both of them embraced each other tightly.
"Daddy."
"Welcome home, Jelly Bean."
Heaton gently patted his daughter's back and spoke in a calm tone, "Help carry your sister's luggage into the car, Harrison."
He then told Cherie, "Let's hurry home now. Your grandfather and your mother are both waiting for you for dinner at home."
Cherie nodded and said, "Sure."
Heaton drove away after they got into the car.
Both Cherie and Harrison were sitting in the backseat.
Cherie asked, "Oh daddy, why must you personally show up to pick me up? You know you can always have Uncle Lewis pick me up, right?"
"It's rare for you to come home so obviously I have to personally come over to pick you up, you know."
It did not matter how old Jelly Bean grew, regardless if she was an adult or was still a child, Heaton would still love her tremendously.
Harrison raised his brows and said, "It's not the first day you knew that our dad is a slave to his daughter. You know, you're absolutely precious and I happened to be trash in our family."
Heaton chuckled and said, "Do you even have a heart, Harrison? Since when have I treated you like trash?"
"Look, I am the one to take out the trash at home and I'm also the one who helped out with sister’s luggage. Man, sis has been abroad for seven years now and she hasn’t disturbed your love life with mom anymore. You guys call me annoying whenever I desperately try to get your attention at home. If I'm not trash then what am I anyway?"
Heaton chuckled and said, "You're a man so you'd obviously have to do chores."
The father and son duo were teasing each other and the entire atmosphere felt lovingly warm.
However, Heaton realized Jelly Bean had grown silent. He took a glance at her through the rear view mirror and realized she was staring out into the scenery through the window.
Heaton said, "North City has changed a lot in the years you went abroad right, Jelly Bean?"
Cherie said, "Yeah, a lot has changed from when we left the airport till today."
"Harrison, there is some bread and yogurt in the car. Your sis has to be hungry from her plane ride home. Give it to her."
Harrison grabbed the bread and yogurt from the glove compartment obediently as he said, "Here you go, sis."
Cherie took a couple of bites.
Heaton initially wanted to ask Cherie about her plans back home. However, he noticed how exhausted she seemed from the rear view mirror so he did not want to disturb her and allowed her to take a short break.
…
The black Maybach arrived at the Fudd family mansion.
Old Master Fudd noticed the car that had just entered the courtyard from the living room. He excitedly stood up from the couch and said, "Little Jelly Bean is home."
Verian had noticed them too. She said with a smile, "You shouldn't be this excited, dad. Watch your blood pressure. I'll bring them in."
"Hurry up then."
The instant Cherie got out of the car, she was immediately hugged tightly by the approaching Verian.
"Mom."
"Oh Jelly Bean, you're finally back. Do you know how much I missed you?"
Harrison teased as he stood by the car, "Mom, sis, are you both done? You both are going to kill grandpa from leaving him so excited in the living room."
Verian glared at him with a smile as she said while grabbing Jelly Bean's hand, "Let's hurry inside then. Look at how much your grandpa misses you."
Heaton shut the car door behind him. He seemed to be thinking about something while staring at the embracing mother and daughter duo as they walked by the grass and into the house.
