Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 863

It seemed the first thing he said to her after seven years apart was, 'long time no see'.

Boyle's gaze seemed completely overwhelmed with strong emotions as he stared at the woman in front of him. He remained silent for a really long time while desperately trying to suppress his overwhelmingly strong yearning toward her.

He finally asked in a calm voice, "Have you been doing well within the last seven years?"

Cherie chuckled with a gleaming look as she said, "Are you hoping that I've been doing well or not, Mr. Lawson."

She had grown up and started to behave a little more mature and feminine. She was also playing with her long hair while smiling, looking pure and very elegant.

It seemed Cherie looked even more attractive when behaving in that particular manner.

She was catching a lot of attention from all the other men around her, showing just how attractive she was. She was the only one oblivious to her own beauty.

However, such innocence only made more men pursue her.

Boyle's throat twitched before staring intensely at her as he said, "I want you to be doing well."

"Are you only saying that because you want to feel less guilty, Mr. Lawson?"

Cherie avoided his gaze, picked up a glass of champagne as she tried to calm herself down.

Perhaps by drinking some champagne, she would be able to build up some courage for herself.

Boyle raised his brows slightly and said, "You drink now?"

Cherie laughed when she heard that and said, "I'm no longer a child so isn't drinking alcohol normal?"

Boyle looked obviously displeased after hearing such a reply from her.

After a brief moment, Wendy walked over to them.

Cherie wanted to make her escape so she asked, "Do I still need to play the piano later?"

Wendy knew she wanted to leave since such dinner events were usually pretty pointless and uninteresting.

"You're only required to play one song according to the contract. You can leave now if you're feeling tired."

Cherie put the glass of champagne down and nodded her head as she completely ignored Boyle. She told Wendy, "Well, I'm off then."

When Wendy noticed Boyle, she was startled and immediately exclaimed, "You're… Are you President Lawson from MO Group?"

Boyle gave a gentle nod as he replied, "I am."

Cherie hung her bag on her arm, turned around, and was about to leave immediately.

However, the man behind her reached out with his huge hand and suddenly grabbed her soft and tender wrist.

Cherie frowned as she turned around to look at him and asked, "Is there anything else you need, Mr. Lawson?"

Boyle seemed to be the one with complete control over everything in comparison to how hastily she wanted to leave.

Boyle did not seem furious as he stared at her with a dim gaze and replied in a serious manner, "You just drank some alcohol and shouldn't be driving at all."

"... I can have someone drive me home. There's no need for you to worry about anything, Mr. Lawson."

Cherie pulled her wrist out from his hand and hastily strode out of the hall in her high heels. She was walking so fast, it almost seemed like she was rushing to be reincarnated.

However, Boyle was not offended by her at all. He simply told Wendy, "Excuse me but I have to leave," before going after Cherie as she left.

Although it was summer in North City, the winds were strong at night. Cherie had goosebumps on her shoulders the instant she exited the hall.

Suddenly, her shoulders felt heavy. She noticed a man's coat had already been draped over them.

When Cherie turned to look back, she was met with Boyle's very attractive gaze.

She struggled to take the coat off. However, the man had already placed his defined arm on her shoulders.

He was very barbaric and it seemed that his barbaric nature had only gotten worse in the last seven years.

Cherie smiled and said, "Mr. Lawson… No wait, I should address you as…President Lawson? President Lawson, I don't think we're that close to each other."

She was hinting to him that he should not simply give a woman he barely knew his coat.

Boyle withdrew his hand and stood behind her stunning body. He lowered his gaze and replied calmly, "It's fine. There's no need to rush anything. We can take our time and get to know each other better."

His deep voice sounded magnetic and warm. It was soothing and almost seemed like he was flirting with her.

He would soon grow closer to her.

Cherie was speechless.

'This man!'

Her arm was grabbed by the man when she was trying to hastily leave.

Boyle walked with Cherie while holding her hand underneath the moonlight. He said gently, "You've drunk alcohol and shouldn't be driving at all. I can drive you home."
