Cherie had a good sleep last night.
Having sufficient sleep, she felt much better from her seasickness.
She lifted the blanket and just as she was about to get out of the bed to wash up, she noticed a pair of flats placed by the bedside.
It was a shallow mouth flat shoe made of leather. It was comfortable and the shoe size was just right.
However, her high heels were nowhere to be seen.
She was a tad bit puzzled. She figured who could have done it but she did not want to delve into that person's mind and guess his motives anymore.
She put on the shoes and as she was walking toward the washroom, she heard someone knocking on the door.
“Cher, are you awake?”
It was Whitney.
Cherie went to the entrance and opened the door.
“I heard that you were seasick last night. Huntley and I were held up by the guests last night and hence, I couldn’t come over to visit you. How are you doing? Are you feeling better?”
Cherie beamed and said, “Bride, happy marriage.”
“Tsk. Why are you suddenly so polite toward me? Your health is more important than anything.”
“I’m fine. I’m feeling better now.”
“Let’s have breakfast after you wash up then. Today will be quite free and easy. We’ll return to the shore tonight.”
“Alright.”
…
Huntley’s and Whitney’s wedding had officially ended.
Cherie received a notice soon as soon as she returned to North City.
It was a job offer from a broadcast station in the capital. They were organizing a banquet and they cordially invited Cherie to perform a piano piece at the party.
Cherie did not want to go at all.
Harrison persuaded her, “Sis, you will get sick if you keep staying at home and shut yourself entirely from the world. Just mingle with people and have fun at the banquet. In short, it’s not good for your mental health if you keep staying at home.”
Cherie then decided to accept the job offer.
Perhaps, she would feel better if she were to go out and mix around with the people.
She was not sure if her mental health condition would improve or would it be the other way around.
It seemed that her medication was not strong enough to keep her illness under control anymore.
She had gradually lost all her passion and interest she used to have in every matter.
…
At MO Group branch in North City.
Calum came into Boyle’s office after Boyle was done with his international conference call and reported, “Boss, I’ve checked Mrs. Lawson’s schedule and she’ll be going to the capital to attend a banquet held by Satellite Broadcast Station.”
“Book an afternoon flight to the capital then.”
“Noted.”
Before this, Calum would find Boyle’s act shocking and unbelievable. However, he was not surprised anymore as long as long as it was related to Cherie.
He came to a realization not long ago.
He started working beside Boyle four years ago. During this period, Boyle would attend a piano recital every month. No matter where the recital was organized, the person who performed on the stage was always the same person, Momo.
As Calum had a hobby of collecting tickets, he went home and dug out all the recital admission tickets Boyle had attended. He then realized all the recitals Boyle had been to was Momo’s piano recital all along.
Hence, his boss was not acting impulsively toward Momo. Instead, Boyle had been wanting to get close to her, probably even before Calum started working for him.
When Calum helped Boyle in investigating Momo’s past, he noticed that Cherie was from Capital City University, the same university Boyle attended last time. Besides, seven years ago, his boss had a love relationship with Momo and now, he was obviously trying to rekindle his old flame.
...
Cherie went to the Satellite Broadcasting Station with no makeup on at six in the evening. She then headed to the makeup room to wait for her makeup artist to come over.
The banquet commenced at eight. However, she had to attend the rehearsal first.
After terminating her contract with Universal Studios, Wendy was no longer her manager anymore. Hence, she had to hire a new manager to deal with her work matters.
She waited for a while in the makeup room. As her makeup artist had yet to arrive, she stood up and went out to take a breath of fresh air.
Many people were rehearsing in the banquet hall.
In the crowd, a petite, familiar figure caught Cherie’s attention.
Why was Little Bean Sprout here?
Cherie went up to her and their eyes met as Little Bean Sprout turned around.
