Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 954

Heaton and Verian did not stay in Cherie's room for too long since they were afraid that if too much time had gone by, they would be unable to control their emotions and might actually break down.

Boyle arrived at the hospital soon after they left.

Shania invited him to have a conversation with her on the balcony. She wanted to talk about Cherie's condition and have a decent conversation with him.

Since she was not doing a formal checkup on him, the open space was able to ease some tension and help everyone relax.

Shania had both hands tucked inside of her white lab coat’s pockets as she glanced toward the nearby buildings which helped ease some of her exhaustion as she said, "Little Bean Sprout who Cherie had hallucinated might actually be the child she miscarried seven years ago."

Boyle was not surprised by this because when he learned of Little Bean Sprout's existence, he was roughly able to guess that she was most likely the child they lost from back then.

That was because if only a small part of her life matched whatever they had gone through, it could be considered a coincidence but everything was uncanny with their lives, so it had to be somehow related.

This was because Little Bean Sprout was coincidentally seven years old and somehow also lived near Greentown and even had the same unit and block number as theirs.

Boyle's throat twitched as he said, "Cherie used to think that I didn’t want her and the child seven years ago. Ironically, Little Bean Sprout and her mother were both abandoned by her father. This is…"

Boyle chuckled bitterly as he said, "This event is probably deeply rooted in Cherie's heart and it's very traumatic to her. I thought that my pursuit for her, me doing my absolute best to care for her and provide her with the best care would be enough to slowly treat her no matter how serious her depression was.

"However, who would've thought that deep rooted trauma like that would somehow still catch up to her. We can't run from it nor can we hide from it.

"If I had known that this would be the case, seven years… damn, how could I possibly even have the heart to part with her for seven years."

Boyle's eyes reddened as he felt his throat tightened while his heart ached.

All of her trauma was a result of his sins and now, he could do nothing more than to helplessly watch her.

Shania said, "It's very easy for her to feel loved whenever she's with you but the more loved she felt, the heavier the guilt she felt for the child she lost back then. Thus, this caused her to have more self-harm tendencies."

Boyle's throat was violently twitching as he could not stop himself from sobbing.

He reached into his jeans pocket and took out a pack of cigarettes. He then pulled a cigarette out of the pack before politely asking, "Can I smoke here?"

"It's up to you."

Smoking would be fine since they were on the balcony.

He ignited his lighter.

Boyle was only able to calm his pent up emotions down after taking a few puffs of cigarettes. However, as much as his emotions raged inside of him, he looked significantly calmer on the surface.

It did not take him long to finish smoking a single cigarette.

He threw the cigarette bud on the ground before stepping on it with his leather shoes to extinguish the embers.

He felt significantly better.

Boyle stared at Shania with a pleading gaze before finally pleading with her again, "I haven't seen her in days now. I… Can I see her? Even if it's only for ten minutes, it'll be fine by me."

Shania sighed and said, "Cherie's parents visited her before you arrived. Since today is technically visitation day for her family, well, I need you to promise me one thing, Boyle and that is, you can't stay in there for too long. The longest you can stay is half an hour. It'll affect her emotions if you stay too long."

Boyle gently nodded his head and spoke in a sincere tone, "Thank you."

After Cherie's meeting with Heaton and Verian, she was sitting on her bed completely dazed for a very long time. It was unsure what she was thinking about since she looked extremely sad.

When Boyle arrived at the door, he stood outside for a full ten minutes.

It seemed this was the first time in his life to have ever felt so nervous and at the same time excited to meet someone. His emotions were a complete mess.

He was excited because he would be able to see her, hug, kiss and even talk to her.
