Nadine had been swept up in a whirlwind of rumors recently. No matter where she went, people whispered behind her back. To make matters worse, she'd crossed Brad, leaving her uneasy and unsure of how that scoundrel would retaliate.

Adam's suggestion made her realize that going away for a while might actually be a great idea. Without hesitation, she agreed. "Sure! I'll ask my boss for a leave of absence and head out once it's approved. Thanks, Grandpa!"

Adam was pleased to see her smile. "I'll arrange for two bodyguards to accompany you. It's better to be safe than sorry. Oh, and I've already spoken to the director about your leave. You can just give them a heads-up."

His thoughtfulness moved her to tears. Nadine hugged his arm and nuzzled against him affectionately. "Thank you, Grandpa."

He gently patted her head. "Don't mention it. We're family, after all. You and Sean should enjoy yourselves. I've made all the necessary arrangements, so you don't have to worry about anything. All you have to do is have fun and take lots of pictures for me."

Nadine nodded vigorously. "Got it! I'll speak to the director right now!" With that, she darted off toward the cardiology department.

Adam watched her retreating figure until she was out of sight. Then, he turned to Travis. "Have you taken care of everything at home?"

With a cautious look on his face, Travis watched the fleeing Nadine. Then, he nodded. "I've taken care of everything. No one will know that Ms. Scott and Mr. Hamilton Junior are going on a trip."

A sly smile spread across Adam's face, his calculating eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "Let's see who's going to panic now."
