After listening to Cameron's report, Brad stood frozen in place, as though someone had struck the back of his head. It was so sudden and forceful, completely catching him off guard. His head was ringing, and it dawned on him that he might have wronged Nadine again.
Ever since Jean barged into Phoenix Villa and spent the night beside him, his trust in her had begun to slip. His father might not have said anything, but Brad wasn't a fool. He had already noticed some of Jean's ill intentions.
Yet, he kept convincing himself that Jean had acted out because she cared and loved him too much. Sure, she might've been a little manipulative, but he didn't think it was anything serious. That said, the photos were a rude awakening, shattering that belief entirely.
Brad thought her love was terrifying as it caused her to lose herself and turn into a lunatic. The Jean he once loved no longer existed. She might look the same on the outside, but her heart had undeniably changed.
After coming to this realization, he started to reassess everything Jean had done. If he were being honest, he had never felt any physical attraction toward her. Every kiss was initiated by her, and he had always been passive, as he felt nothing.
In hindsight, even her kisses were part of her plan. Jean had taken photos while kissing him and sent them to Nadine, twisting the narrative to make it seem like they'd slept together when he hadn't even responded to her advances. Her motives were far more devious than he had imagined.
As soon as things clicked into place, he felt an overwhelming urge to see Nadine. He wanted to apologize to her and tell her that he had been framed.
And he did just that. His legs carried him toward the cardiology department, his steps both fast and hurried.
