Noticing the serious look on his face, Nadine thought something important must have happened, so she let go of Sean's hand. "Why don't you go find your daddy, baby?"

Sean, more than happy to be excused, nodded enthusiastically. "Sure thing!" Before she could remind him to watch his step, he ran off to where Brad sat.

Nadine didn't take her eyes off Sean until she saw him sitting in the chair next to Brad. Then, she turned to Tyler and said, "Alright, Tyler. What is it?"

She had a good idea of what Tyler wanted to talk about and had already prepared her response. He probably wanted to tell her that since she and Brad had divorced, she shouldn't look back and make the same mistakes again—and that Brad wasn't husband material.

Nadine was well aware that Brad's heart belonged to Jean, not to her. So, no matter what he said or did, it was pointless to her. Her heart had been shattered once. She wouldn't give Brad a second chance to break it.
