Nadine only exchanged a few extra words with Tyler because she wanted to find out who had assaulted her all those years ago. She was planning to sue the perpetrator and needed a witness. But the moment she learned that Julia was the key witness, she changed her mind.

Nadine hated the man who had assaulted her back then. She longed to drag him to court and see him behind bars where he would pay for what he did. But she despised Julia even more.

She would much rather stay in the dark about who her assaulter was than have to ask Julia for help. The mere thought of asking Julia for help felt more painful than death itself.

Thus, it was better to just let it go. After all, so many years had passed, and for all she knew, the man could very well be dead by now.

Back then, she had cursed him and loathed him with all her being. But what did any of it accomplish besides tearing herself apart?

Eventually, Avery advised her to let it go, to stop dwelling on painful memories, and to look ahead. It was only then that she gradually learned to let the past rest.

Now that Tyler had brought up the past again, she thought there might be a new lead. Little did she know, it was actually his cruel revenge.

She had already emerged from the shadows of that incident from six years ago. As Avery said, the past was set in stone, so she had to look forward and live each day to the fullest.

After returning to her seat, Nadine was about to ask Sean if he wanted anything else to eat when she heard Brad's voice force its way out through his gritted teeth. She lifted her gaze and glanced at him but had no intention of answering.

The two of them were divorced, and she had no connection to him. There was no reason to cater to his every need or keep him updated on everything happening in her life. She certainly didn't need to concern herself with his bad mood.

Hence, she ignored him and turned her attention to Sean instead. "Have you had enough to eat, baby? Do you want anything else?" she asked gently.
