Wearing a resolute expression, he spoke firmly. Even if it means forgoing sleep and starving myself, I absolutely won’t allow you and Mom to suller because of me!”
Jillian was almost moved to tears upon seeing that Nathan had changed.
However, Tristan emerged and said unceremoniously, “Kid, you better stop bragging. A deadbeat like you can forget about earning fifty million in five years. You wouldn’t even be able to make five hundred thousand.”
“Who said so?” Nathan was enraged.
Tristan chuckled nonchalantly, “I said so.”
“You!” Overwhelmed with anger, Nathan couldn’t even muster a complete sentence.
“I was just stating the truth. Look at yourself in the mirror. What can you really do?” Tristan bluntly mocked.
Nathan found himself at a loss for words, for Tristan was right.
After much contemplation, he realized he had no particular skills to speak of.
He couldn’t help letting out a sigh..
Having anticipated his reaction, Tristan chuckled. “See? Like I said, you don’t have any skills. How are you going to earn these fifty million?”
“Are you done?” Nathan’s irritation flared. This guy’s words sting!
He then said defiantly. “That’s none of your business. I’ll find a way on my own.”
“Heh, what could you possibly do?” Tristan said mockingly.
Nathan was so furious that he almost passed out.
At that moment, Tristan suddenly spoke again. “Of course, it’s not like it’s hopeless. That is, unless, you’re willing to listen to me.”
“Listen to you?” Nathan was quite puzzled, “Why should I listen to you?”
“Because I can ensure you make fifty million within five years,” he said, wearing a confident smile.
Nathan wavered upon seeing that smile on his face.
Swallowing nervously, he asked, “What solutions do you have?”
Tristan immediately broke into a wide grin. This kid’s not hopeless after all. He’s quite tactful.
He said, “I can teach you, but first, you have to sign a document, which is what you call a slave contract.”
“A slave contract?” Nathan furrowed his brows in confusion.

Nathan frowned. So I’m supposed to sell myself? But this contract will only last for five years. It’s actually worthwhile if I can repay the forty million debt in five years, especially if Jillian and Mom can be spared.
Hence, Nathan nodded. “All right. Let’s do that then.”
With that, the matter was resolved.
Upon hearing this, both Jillian and Madelyn instantly breathed a sigh of relief.
It was Tristan’s turn to get busy.
In reality, he was quite troubled. After all, making fifty million in five years was an incredibly difficult feat for most people.
However, his ultimate goal was simply to help Nathan find his motivation. As long as this goal was achieved, that would be enough.
After everything was settled, Jillian and her mother expressed their profound gratitude to Madelyn.
“Ms. Thornton. I’m truly sorry for troubling you once again,” said Fiona.
“Madelyn, thank you for everything,” Jillian said with a smile.
Madelyn immediately waved her hand dismissively. “Hey, we’re all friends here. Helping each other out is only natural. You guys don’t need to thank me.”
They then exchanged smiles.
After settling everything, Madelyn headed to Lockhart Group to meet Sebastian.
At that moment, Sebastian was swamped with work.
He spared a moment to glance at Madelyn before immersing himself in work again.
Madelyn was slightly dissatisfied upon seeing how busy he was.
At that moment, Malcolm rushed in, breathless as he reported, “Mr. Lockhart, I’m sorry, I couldn’t find Mr. Gilbert”
Sebastian frowned. “Got it, you may leave now.”
“What’s going on?” Madelyn suddenly felt that something was off.
However, Sebastian clearly didn’t want to explain. Malcolm didn’t dare to say anything more and quietly excused himself.
Although she wasn’t fully aware of the specifics, she could make a rough guess.
Wesley and Sebastian are probably fighting again.
Instead of asking any more questions, Madelyn slipped outside and called out to Malcolm. “Hey, Malcolm! Did something happen between Sebastian and Wesley?”

Frightened, Malcolm dared not hesitate. “Sorry, Mr. Lockhart. In fact, a couple of days ago, Mr. Lockhart and Mr. Gilbert had a major disagreement. Ever since that day, Mr. Gilbert has not returned to the company. Mr. Lockhart had no choice but to shoulder all the work himself”
Madelyn couldn’t help knitting her brows.
