Chapter 104
Kashton stayed up all night and nearly got himself exhausted.
The three women also received generous compensation to keep quiet about it. As they left, they waved, eagerly awaiting his next call.
Kashton was left alone in the room, wondering what went wrong.
‘Am I using it too much?‘ he wondered.
After a night of absurdity, the next day, gentle sunlight filtered through thick clouds, bathing all over Xosa. Despite the events of the night, the feeble sunlight persisted, and signs of spring were evident with buds sprouting on the bare tree branches.
Winona drove herself down the straight road with headphones on. She dialed Mildred’s number.
“Mom, I’m coming to pick you up. Come with me to the hospital,” she said.
After Mildred responded, Winona took off her headphones and threw them on the passenger seat.
Since the last two times she felt some discomfort in her stomach, it had become even more frequent.
She was only four months pregnant, so prenatal checkups weren’t very frequent, just once a month. It had been a while since her last checkup, but feeling increasingly anxious, she decided to go for another checkup, just to put her mind at ease.
She didn’t dare to let anyone else accompany her except her mother.
If anything happened, the consequences would be terrible.
After picking up Mildred, Winona told her about the condition of her stomach.
While listening to Winona, Mildred opened the mirror on the sun visor and adjusted her hair at the forehead. She looked quite satisfied with the hairstyle she had just permed yesterday.
Huxley had been discharged from the hospital and was recuperating at home, so she had time to dress up and accompany Winona to the hospital.
“Winona, don’t think too much. This is your first pregnancy, and you’ve been pampered since childhood. It’s normal for the fetus to be a little delicate,” said Mildred.
Winona looked at the road ahead, hoping Mildred’s words were true.
They arrived at the People’s Hospital and went directly to the obstetrics and gynecology department on the fourth floor.
They went straight to the familiar doctor’s office. Since Winona was pregnant, she had obtained a hospital membership card. From pregnancy to birth, this doctor provided one–to–one services for her.
The doctor, Hailey Henderson, was the director of the obstetrics and gynecology department. She was very famous in this field.
After seeing Winona and hearing about her situation, Hailey directly led her to do a checkup.
Seeing the examination report, her expression didn’t bode well.
“Dr. Henderson, is there anything wrong with my baby?” Winona was unusually nervous when it came to her child.
Hailey put the examination report on the table, glanced at Mildred standing beside her, and said to Winona who was sitting opposite her, “Have you been angry often recently or haven’t had a good rest?”
Winona nodded.
Since becoming pregnant, she hadn’t been sleeping well. Every day, she kept thinking of ways to convince Jaxon to keep the baby and how to snatch Jaxon from Mikayla. After achieving all this, she would also want to seize control of the Ludwig Group.
She was even irritated by Mikayla several times!
“Actually, it’s not a big issue, but it needs attention. The baby shows signs of miscarriage. I’ll prescribe some anti–abortifacient for you. You should rest more, avoid exhaustion, relax, and try to stay in bed as much as possible. As long as there’s no bleeding, everything should be fine.” Hailey prescribed the medication on the computer and gave Winona her membership card.
“Okay. Thank you, Dr. Henderson,” Winona said as she got up to leave.”
“Sure, feel free to contact me if you have any questions,” Hailey replied.

Chapter 104
After sending Mildred and Winona to the elevator, Hailey went back to her office.
Winona and Mildred went to get the anti–abortifacient and returned to the car.
“Winona, why don’t you go back to the Salvatore manor with Jaxon? This way, I can take care of you every day.” Mildred didn’t dare to ignore the importance of this child. It was related to Winona’s happiness after all.
Winona started the car. “I’ll go back to the Lindstrom residence. Jaxon’s mother asked us to move back temporarily the day before yesterday. When I’m in confinement, we can move back to our current mansion.”
“Sounds good! I’ll arrange for a housekeeper for you. As the pregnancy progresses, it will become more inconvenient for you. Having a couple of extra hands will definitely help,” Mildred agreed.
“I’ll think about it. Jaxon’s father isn’t easy to deal with. The other day, he even asked me directly when Huxley would take over the company.” Winona turned the steering wheel and got on the overpass.
Regarding this matter, Mildred and Logan had been planning for Winona to marry into the Lindstrom family. With the support of the Lindstrom family, taking over Salvatore Group later would definitely make them influential in Xosa. Therefore, even Logan was very happy that Winona could marry into the Lindstrom family. But unexpectedly, Hugo had other intentions and aimed for the shares of Salvatore Group.
Until now, Mildred hadn’t told Logan that Winona had agreed to give Hugo ten percent of the shares of Salvatore Group.
If she had known it earlier, she wouldn’t have agreed to the marriage.
