Mikayla had stayed up until the early morning to write the proposal, so she knew it well. “Mr. Salvatore, rather than sticking to the rules, it’s better to have a breakthrough.” 

If Mikayla’s proposal succeeded, it could propel the Salvatore Group forward and solve the bottleneck they had been facing. But if it failed, it could bring a crisis. 

Jorge pondered for a moment and closed the folder. “Quinnlyn, inform all assistant managers and above that we have a meeting in ten minutes. After hanging up the phone, he handed the proposal back to Mikayla. “Get ready!” 

Mikayla nodded, understanding that her father had agreed to her plan. She began preparing for the meeting. 

Ten minutes later, all the higher–ups required gathered in the meeting room. Mikayla entered with Jorge and took a seat at the end of the table. 

Jorge looked around the room. The main purpose of today’s meeting is to discuss this proposal. You all have a copy. Please read it and share your thoughts.”

“Ms. Salvatore, do you understand how hard it is to make a laptop light and thin without compromising its performance?” asked Tyson, the product department manager. 

“Yeah! Last time we tried reducing the thickness by 0.04 inches, the built–in optical drive stopped working, and the processor kept short–circuiting,” sighed the assistant manager of the design department. 

“Ms. Salvatore, you must have no experience in this field. We’ve tried to break through before. It would take at least a year or two to meet your proposal’s demands,” said Evan Xanders, the assistant director of marketing department, with a dismissive tone, ignoring the fact that Mikayla was the chairman’s daughter 

Mikayla had taken note of Evan from the start. Jorge often mentioned him at home. Evan was the brother–in–law of Shawn Porter, the company’s second–largest shareholder. He was somewhat talented and well–connected, which made him rather arrogant 

“Really? What if I say we only need three months?” Mikayla responded calmly, impressing–even Jorge with her first show–up.
