“After what happened today, this meeting is over!” Jorge ordered. After all, he was the chairman of the company. It was not only Mikayla’s problem but also the company’s. He had to handle it fairly. 

“Mikayla, I’ll ask the I’R department to help you.” Jorge said. 

Thank you, Mr. Salvatore she replied. 

Mikayla had been thinking about how to handle it since she left the board meeting. 

Back in the marketing department, Mikayla went straight to her office and closed the door. She wondered. Did someone do it on purpose, or did the paparazzi happen to nun imo uv 

As Mikayla looked out the window at the endless traffic, she began to calm down just then, the phone on the table rang. It was a number Mikayla was very familiar with. 

“What?” Mikayla’s tone was harsh. She had grown more impatient with Jaxon 

Mikayla’s voice made Jason frown slightly. “We’re exes, after all. Do you have to do this?” he said. 

She retorted, “If you want us to get back together. I’m busy” 

“I just heard you’re in trouble. Do you need my help? I mean it!” Jaxon said. He realized that he could only compromise with Mikayla. He had no idea why, but lately, he had been missing her more and more. He had also dreamed about her many times 

He broke up with her not just because of Hugo, but more importantly because he loved her, When Jaxon knew Mikayla was distancing herself from him, he realized he loved her more than he thought. So he wanted to try to win her back. 

“Are you involved in this? Or is it your dad? Mikayla inquired, increasingly convinced that it might be the case. 

“It’s me, I guess! If you agree to come back to me. I’ll make this news disappear immediately… Jason said. He knew Mikayla was smart, and he didn’t want to hide it from her because she was his target.

Jaxon threw his phone to the ground and smashed it into pieces. He thought, “You’re hanging up on me again! Since you’re so determined, despite my repeated pleas to change your mind, I will make you get down on your knees and beg me to be with you, Mikayla 

Mikayla was lost in thought as she looked out of the window at the blue sky. 

After years of being with Jaxon, he was a man she loved with all her heart. Although she had no intention of forgiving him for his betrayal, she thought she could treat him as a stranger and not interfere with each other. But his increasingly extreme behavior disgusted her more and more. When she came to her senses, she took out her cell phone and made a call. The phone rang twice before being answered 

“Hey, Mikayla! How come you have time to call me?” Juliet asked. She had just gotten up. Judging by the time, Mikayla should still be at work. 

Juliet, I need to borrow your media for something!” Mikayla said. She was straightforward about her intentions. 

Juliet’s family owned the biggest TV station in Xosa. They also own several well–known media outlets and celebrities they’ve trained and developed 

themselves. 

“Okay! I’ll call my dad now,” Juliet replied. She did not ask much, as she could tell that Mikayla was anxious. 

The call ended. If Mikayla could find a media company to connect with, it would save her a lot of trouble. 

Moments later, she called Quinnlyn and Patricia into the office. She showed them the newspaper she had brought from the board meeting. “You know the whole story. Quinnlyn, borrow two people from PR department. Then announce that we’re having a press conference at 3:00 p.m. Notify security beforehand to keep the place orderly Mikayla instructed. The pen in Mikayla’s hand tapped on the desk, making a crisp sound. “Yes” Quinnlyn replied and left the office. 

“Patricia, only the media I mentioned will be allowed into the press conference this afternoon. The others are banned. You can write a press release about their questions and my answers. Don’t forget to give me a copy. You and the other two from PR department will coordinate with the media” she ordered 

Chapter 59 

Patricia looked at Mikayla with admiration as she sat in front of her desk, thinking, She has already figured out what to do in a short time and doesn’t act like a newbie in the office at all? 

It was basically cheating. Mikayla did not have much time to deal with the tricky media because they could easily make things worse. The tabloids were only good at making things up, 

Mikayla’s experiences were from her professors when she was in school and from the notebook Jorge had given her a few days ago. She thought she might have inherited Jorge’s talent for business or been born with some of it. 

When Patricia was about to leave the room, Maxius knocked politely twice before pushing the door open. 

“Have 

you heard about it?” Mikayla asked. She was not surprised if Maxius knew about the matter, as news traveled quickly in a company. 

“Yeah, I just came from Mr. Salvatore’s office, Maxius replied, lowering his gaze. 

“It’s all right. Get back to work! Tve already found a way to deal with it,” Mikayla assured. 

When Maxius saw Mikayla’s smile, his eyes flickered. He finally turned back to his office without saying anything 

In the meantime, everything was ready, and the press conference began at exactly three o’clock in the afternoon. Mikayla sat on the stage while Patricia chose the reporter to ask questions. 

Since they had communicated with Mikayla beforehand, they would not go too far with their questions or embarrass her. Mikayla, on the other hand, was quick to answer.
