Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1064

What the heck?

Sophie felt the gift and discovered a key hidden inside.

When she held the key in her hand and looked at the address again.

Sophie was stunned.

Is this... a house?

By the time Sophie stepped out of the mansion, Odie was nowhere to be seen, only a car parked at the entrance.

Colby got out of the car, wearing only a black shirt, not even bothering to put on a coat. Seeing Sophie emerge, he wrapped her in his embrace.

Sophie could smell the alcohol on Colby, knowing he hadn't skimped on drinks today. She said, “Stop it, people are watching!”

“Let them watch,” Colby said in a deep voice. “None of them has a wife as wonderful as mine.”

“Please, stop.”

Sophie felt the driver's gaze on them, and just as she pushed Colby away, he wrapped his arm around her waist and lifted her off her feet.

“Colby! Have you started to act foolish because you're drunk?”

“Who says I'm drunk?”

A barely concealed smile was on Colby’s face as he said, “Just doting on my wife.”

With that, Colby carried Sophie into the car.

The driver coughed softly, pretending to see nothing, and then drove Colby and Sophie to the hotel.

Meanwhile, at the wedding venue.

“What on earth is going on? Where are the bride and groom?”

Angelo and Sandy had lost sight of the bride and groom; as best man and maid of honor, they'd been toasted quite a bit and were already flushed.

“Sob, bro, I can't drink anymore!” Sandy said. “This is more than I've ever drunk in my life!”

“You think I feel any different? Did the Costello family's patriarch lose his mind? A table full of bourbon! Who drinks that much over a hundred tables?”

Angelo regretted volunteering as the best man for the excitement.
