Jenna stepped up, unwrapping each gift with a grin. "I swear, the number of wedding checks today is insane. Our hands are going to be sore from opening all these!"
Colby sighed, "If you're going to open them, do it outside. Don't ruin our wedding night."
Jenna shot back, "Are you kidding? The highlight of the wedding night is definitely opening the checks!"
Adler chimed in, "We're here to help you out. Once we get through these thousand checks, you guys can crash."
Colby was on the verge of kicking them out when Sophie intervened, "It might be fun to open them, Colby. What do you say?"
Seeing the excitement in Sophie's eyes, Colby gave in, "Alright."
The five of them settled around the bed, with Colby sitting across from Sophie, helping her collect the opened gifts.
"This one's from Chase Bank, this one's Wells Fargo, and here's Bank of America..." Jenna meticulously sorted each one.
Sophie was astonished; she hadn't expected all the gifts to be bank cards.
"Whoa, someone actually gave cash."
Sandy picked up a $500 check, laughing loudly, "Wonder which idiot thought this was a good idea. Isn't this a slap in the face to the Costello family?"
Angelo's face darkened as he snatched the $500 check, "That idiot is your brother!"
Angelo pocketed the check, grumbling, "Who knew these big shots would go nuts and not treat money like money. If I'd known they were giving bank cards, I wouldn't have bothered."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
