Sandy slammed her hand on the table and stood up abruptly, her face turning red with urgency. "How could you fall for a married woman? How could you fall for Sophie?"
"Sandy! Calm down! It's not what you think..."
"Mr. Pei's confession this afternoon really moved me. If only you had shown up earlier..." Sophie sighed with exaggerated regret.
Sandy's anger only intensified. "Oh, great! You confessed? I'm definitely telling Dad! I'll have him break your legs!"
"Sandy! Sandy!" Angelo's face darkened as Sandy stormed upstairs, her dress swishing behind her.
Sophie continued sipping her soup, completely unbothered, as if the whole situation had nothing to do with her.
"Sophie! You're being so unfair!"
"Am I not telling the truth?" Sophie looked at Angelo. "Or... do you mean you've been digging into my daily routines because you're interested in me, not because you have some other agenda?"
Angelo swallowed nervously, Sophie was exactly as James had described—not easy to fool.
If Sophie misunderstood his intentions, would he end up as the hopelessly in love second male lead?
Oh no, that role was already taken by James.
Was he going to be the third male lead?
No way!
He would never agree to that!
"Sophie, honestly, I don't really like you. I have my own... difficult issues."
Angelo's expression looked like he was constipated.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
