Odie's eyes were filled with danger.
James frowned and said, "I didn't tamper with the car."
"Not you? Then how did you know it was sabotaged?"
"I saw it."
"And you think I'd believe that?"
Odie scoffed, "Sophie is your ex-wife. Could you really just stand by and watch her car get messed with and walk away?"
"I can't show up in front of her, so I could only hint that her car was tampered with."
James's calm demeanor made Odie hesitate.
James continued, "I could have just left without saying a word. No need to act mysterious and make Sophie suspicious. Ask her yourself. If she hadn't seen a glimpse of me, she wouldn't have checked the car."
"Alright, let's say you have a point," Odie conceded. "But I didn't invite you to Summerfield, James. You're not the CEO of Burke International anymore, and we don't have any business interests. You couldn't keep the promise you made to me. So why come to Summerfield? Got a death wish?"
When James risked his life to save Sophie, Odie could have taken him out but didn't because James proposed an alliance to take down Colby.
James had promised him shares in Devonport Burke International.
But now, those shares were with the Reeves family.
James said, "I came to Summerfield to discuss something with Mr. Odie."
"Oh? And what bargaining chip do you have left?"
"Tonight, Elodie handed the transfer documents for Burke International's shares to Sophie. If you want those shares, now is the best chance."
Hearing that the shares of Burke International were in Sophie's hands, Odie frowned, "What do you mean?"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
