By the time Sophie got back to the Minton residence, it was already past midnight. The place was buzzing with commotion. Angelo was anxiously tugging at Colby, saying, “Oh, come on! Sophie’s got a guardian angel watching over her! And Mr. Odie went too, right? They’re invincible!”

“Exactly, exactly! No harm will come to them!” Sandy chimed in, placing herself in front of Colby. Even though just a glance from Colby’s eyes sent shivers down her spine, seeing her brother stepping up, she couldn’t back down.

“Move!” Colby, dressed in a white shirt with the sleeves slightly rolled up, his face pale, was about to shake off these two persistent people when Sophie’s voice cut through the chaos: “Colby!”

The instant Colby heard Sophie, the ferocity in his eyes vanished. When Angelo and Sandy saw Sophie and Odie walk in together, they both let out a sigh of relief.

They’re back! Finally back! They were almost unable to hold him back any longer! Aren’t sick people supposed to be weak? How come Colby, even poisoned and ill, had the strength of an ox? Angelo wiped the sweat off his brow. No wonder he had been a force to reckon with abroad! It wasn’t without reason.

“What happened? Are you hurt anywhere?” Colby anxiously checked Sophie for injuries, but she shook her head. “I’m not hurt at all.”

Odie, following leisurely, added, “With me there, she couldn’t be harmed.”

Colby, still tense, retorted, “This happened on your turf. You owe me an explanation.”

Odie, with a cold expression, replied, “I was planning to investigate before you said that. Now, I don’t feel like it.”

“I could dismantle the Minton family, believe it or not?”
