Sophie stood up and said, "You mentioned earlier that you mistook the car, so which one were you actually planning to cut the brake lines on?"
"I...I..."
Seeing Timothy stutter without giving a proper answer, Odie was itching to kick him. "Answer the question!"
"It was my stepmother's. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."
"You realize this is attempted murder, right?"
"...I didn't think it through."
"So, no one put you up to this?"
Timothy shook his head repeatedly. "I can pay for the damages! Whatever it costs!"
"Alright then, I'll be coming by to collect the money in a few days."
Hearing Sophie say she'd come to collect made Timothy nervous, but he eventually agreed.
Then, as if suddenly remembering something, Sophie asked, "And the fuel tank? Did you mess with that too? Was it you who put the lighter in there?"
"...No, it wasn't me!"
Seeing Timothy's panicked look, Sophie nodded and said, "Alright, that's it. Take him away."
"Wait!"
Odie, frowning deeply, said, "We finally caught the guy, and you're letting him go? My gut tells me this guy hasn't said a single truth! We must keep him here! If you can't get it out of him, I will!"
"I'm the victim here, and I say we let him go."
Sophie, turning her back to Timothy, gave Odie a knowing look.
Odie knew all too well what that scheming look meant, and in the end, he could only grimace as he had Timothy sent back.
Once Timothy had left, Odie, holding back frustration, told Sophie, "Get in here!"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
