Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1146
Outside the old church in Summerfield, Odie leaned against his car, lighting a cigarette. By the time he finished his smoke, Jonah and his crew had sealed the place off.
"Find anything?" Odie asked.
Jonah gestured for his team to bring over a few boxes. They opened them to reveal black cloaks and some white masks that looked like props from a European play.
"Is this all?" Odie frowned.
"That's it," Jonah confirmed.
Odie took a deep breath and glanced at Sophie, who was sitting in the car. "Is this it?" he asked, holding up one of the masks.
Sophie looked at the mask, her memory aligning with the sight. She nodded, "That's the one."
"Pack it up and take it away," Odie ordered.
"Mr. Odie, you’re quite the expert at this," Jonah remarked.
"Decent enough," Odie shrugged.
"That wasn’t a compliment."
Sophie had thought Odie had something urgent when he called her over that morning, but it turned out he just wanted to seal the church.
"Mr. Odie, have you thought about how we’ll catch those people next time they gather if you seal the church now?" Sophie asked.
"The Pearl Hotel is already under my control. Do you think they’ll come back here?" Odie replied.
"That makes sense. Looks like you do think things through," Sophie admitted.
"Obviously."
"So, what's the point of sealing this church?" Sophie pressed.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
