Sophie felt her head spinning as she asked, "Why are you telling me all this?"
"Because we're cut from the same cloth, even if we're different in some ways. I still envy your life, Sophie. I know Griffin can't beat Colby. If... I mean, if Griffin fails tonight, I'm asking you to show some mercy and spare him."
Sophie shot back, "Griffin didn't show any mercy when he hit me today. Why should I go easy on him?"
"Look, we're all in business here. Name your price, and as long as I can make it happen, I will. Just promise me you'll spare Griffin's life."
"Alright, I'll remember that. I can agree to spare Griffin, but I have to return the hit he gave me today."
"Fine, as long as it doesn't kill him, you can hit him however you like."
Out in the yard, Griffin opened a can of cat food and fed the stray cats that wandered around.
The strays seemed quite familiar with Griffin, rubbing against his palm happily after their meal.
A smile crept across Griffin's face, but then he heard a noise coming from outside the yard.
The stray cats arched their backs, baring their teeth and hissing at the disturbance outside.
Griffin petted one of the cats on the head and said, "You better go, don't get hurt."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
