"Caelum, about this godson you mentioned..."
"Last night, my godson got attacked, and instead of helping, your officers went and arrested him. What's up with that?"
Caelum shot back with a question, leaving the Chief of Police completely flustered: "Caelum... this Reece, he's your godson?"
"And what if he is? I'm an old guy with a son who doesn’t give a damn about me. Can’t I claim another as my godson?"
Hearing this, the Chief's face turned beet red with embarrassment.
"We honestly had no clue that Reece was your godson, Caelum! If we had known, we definitely wouldn't have done something as ridiculous as arresting him. Rest assured, the moment we find out Reece isn’t involved in any shady business, we'll let him go immediately!"
The Chief sounded all confident, but it was obvious he had no plans of letting Reece out that day.
Just then, an officer hurried out of the station, clearly oblivious to the drama unfolding outside, and blurted to the Chief, "Sir, Reece just passed out. Should we rush him to the hospital right away?"
That statement cranked up the tension in the air.
Caelum, with his commanding presence, didn’t even need to show anger to make everyone feel the heat.
The Chief felt sweat trickling down his back and, glaring at the officer behind him, barked, "He's just a suspect, not a criminal! Who gave you the right to mistreat him? Get him to the hospital right now!"
The officer, unable to argue, had to bite back his frustration.
"No need for all this hassle. My godson got hurt while under your care, and you bet I'll be looking for answers! Let him go now, or you can kiss your job goodbye!"
Caelum’s words shattered the Chief’s composure, leaving him speechless. In no time, Caelum's crew had stormed the police station.
Before you knew it, Reece was whisked away by Caelum's people.
The Chief had never been in such a pickle before and nearly keeled over from the stress.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free.
