Robert, looking a bit sheepish, replied, "A beautiful lady told us."

"A beautiful lady?"

"Yeah, she said you'd be stopping by tonight, so she gave us a chance to serve our cause. That's why Spencer came up with this plan. It was a backup—if you believed Spencer, he'd go through with the mission. If you didn't, then it would be up to me. Spencer would sacrifice himself to protect my identity, making you trust me. "That's quite a simple plan," Sophie remarked. "But you killed your own father for it?"
