“Jenna, let's go upstairs.”
Adler took Jenna's hand and headed towards the staircase.
The second floor was quiet, the light in the hallway dim but sufficient.
At the very end was Adler's mother's bedroom.
The bedroom door was open, and inside, May was sitting at the vanity, arranging her hair.
Approaching fifty, May's features were still striking, though she let time trace its marks boldly across her face.
“Is Wesley back?”
May saw Adler in the mirror; turning to look, she saw Adler holding Jenna's hand, standing behind her.
“Mom.”
Adler tightened his grip on Jenna's hand, saying, “I brought Jenna to see you.”
Hearing this, May's gaze finally rested on Jenna.
She seemed to drift off for a moment, then as if realizing something, she said, “Jenna… you're the Jenna? Wesley often mentioned you when he was younger. I thought you two were always at odds.”
May approached Jenna, affectionately taking her hand, and said, “Jenna, Wesley might seem a bit rough around the edges, but he's exceptionally kind to girls. This is the first time he’s brought a girl home. If you two really have feelings for each other, let's set a wedding date. Wesley will take good care of you. If he ever bullies you, I'll be the first to scold him.”

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
