Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 1790

I have no idea where this kid picked up these habits. She can't even lie convincingly.

"Mom, I actually wanted to ask you something."

"You want to know how I managed to find the distributors so quickly?"

"Mom! You're amazing! How did you know what I was thinking?"

Sophie rubbed her forehead, feeling a bit exasperated. It seemed she and Colby might have missed the mark in their parenting approach with their daughter. Something so obvious, and yet Fiona couldn't see it at all.

"Your dad and I have our own ways. Kids shouldn’t interfere."

Sophie didn’t elaborate further, but Fiona wasn’t ready to drop it. "Alec always says you two are the most impressive people in Devonport. Seeing her daughter full of curiosity, Sophie stepped out of the bathroom, wiped her face, and said, "Alright, those rumors are true."

"What? Did my godfather really get into a fight with Dad over you?"

Fiona flopped onto the bed, hugging a pillow as she curiously inquired, "Hehe… Actually, I wanted to ask how you guys managed to take down The Silent Shadows back then. Was it as legendary as the rumors say? Were you the heroes who saved humanity?"

"Rumors are just rumors. You should know your parents are no different from anyone else's; they love you just the same." Sophie gently stroked Fiona's hair.

"But I really want to know!" Fiona tugged on Sophie's arm, pouting as she tried to learn what had happened in the past.

Sophie, with no other choice, relented, "Alright, alright, let me tell you. It all started back when..."
