Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 210

In the conference room, James leaned in close to Sophie, whispering, "Sophie, I'm looking out for you. Stay away from guys like Colby and Blake. They have ulterior motives for getting close to you."

Sophie didn't respond but took a step back, saying, "Mr. Burke, if there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now."

Sophie was the first to leave the conference room. As soon as she pushed open the door, she was met with the sight of her curious coworkers craning their necks to catch a glimpse of the drama.

A flicker of jealousy passed through Nichole's eyes, but it quickly changed into a different expression when she saw James coming out of the room.

In her high heels, Nichole walked up to James with a radiant smile. "James, you're here."

James frowned, wishing to avoid any interaction with Nichole. He was about to walk past her when Nichole grabbed his arm, acting like a girlfriend who was playfully seeking attention from her boyfriend.

"James, did you come to see me?" Hope filled Nichole's eyes, especially since Sophie was quietly watching the scene unfold from a distance.

"Sophie, is the milkshake good?" At that moment, Reece walked over to the break room, handing Sophie a piece of afternoon tea cake.

Sophie was still upset from James' earlier appearance, and responded indifferently with a "Hmm."

When James looked up and saw Sophie's eyes, then glanced at Reece by her side, he couldn't help but feel a sting. It seemed like she was kind to every man but him.

"James?"

Nichole was anxious about his reaction. She didn't want to become the laughing stock among her colleagues.
