Sophie had no intention of starting a quarrel with these people, but Nichole was just too arrogant. If she didn't set things straight today, her internship days ahead would be far from pleasant.
"Ms. Sophie Russel! I didn't expect you to come in person!" Mr. Donny, smiling as he came out, stopped short at the sight of Sophie's face, taking a moment to collect himself.
What was happening?
Tricia chimed in from the side, "This is Ms. Sophie Russel, also Mrs. Burke, Mr. Burke's wife."
Mr. Donny's face fell. "Mrs. Burke?"
His gaze shifted from Sophie to Nichole. "So, you are Mrs. Burke, and she..."
Nichole frowned, clearly displeased.
Mr. Donny swallowed nervously. Previously, James had never brought his wife to any social events, so naturally, they had no idea what Sophie looked like. Nor had he ever heard that the so-called trophy daughter of the Russell family managed to pursue her postgraduate studies at Eastwood College.
"Mr. Donny, you seem rather nervous." Sophie observed the general manager's reaction with amusement.
"Not at all. It's just unexpected. Mrs. Burke, you are interning at our company, truly a feather in Palm's Jewels' cap."
"Oh, really? I actually feel quite lucky that, as a graduate student from Eastwood College who got in through connections, I can intern at Palm's Jewels."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
