Revenge is Best Served After Reborn (James) novel Chapter 217

Mr. Donny stumbled over his words on the phone as he recounted the day's events, then stuttered, "Mr. Burke, I truly had no idea Mrs. Burke would be interning at our company. I had no choice but to let Ms. Nichole go, Mr. Burke…"

"Letting her go is for the best. She never had the competence to join Palm's Jewels anyway."

James had no interest in discussing Nichole.

Mr. Donny was taken aback. Wasn't Nichole James' lover? James seemed ruthlessly indifferent, not bothering to inquire about her at all.

"Of course, Mr. Burke, rest assured, I will take good care of your wife! I absolutely won't let her face any hardships at the company!"

James, growing impatient, didn't respond to Mr. Donny and hung up the phone.

Colt remarked, "Mr. Burke, if Ms. Nichole can't find another internship position immediately, her thesis..."

"If she lacks the ability to handle it, then she was a waste of all the years I've invested in her development." James coldly stated, "Don't mention Nichole to me again. She and I are done."

"Yes, Mr. Burke."

That afternoon, Sophie received a call from Tricia. As Sophie poured herself some tea, she asked, "What's up?"

"This afternoon, several companies within S Corporation received resumes from the same person."

"Who?"

"Nichole."

Sophie couldn't help but laugh.

Nichole had just been let go and was already looking for the next opportunity. She probably feared that this internship fallout would jeopardize the hard-earned graduate position she got through James.
