Nichole was startled. She was just an intern. How could she be invited to a dinner meeting?
Ada said, "I remember you mentioned that you often attend various dinner meetings and parties, right? You have experience, and I have high hopes for you."
Hearing Ada say this, Nichole indeed felt a boost of confidence. She might not excel at much, but after accompanying James to so many parties, she was quite familiar with the drill.
Once Ada returned to the office, she quickly dialed Sophie's number. "Ms. Sophie, I've spoken to her as you instructed."
"Good."
"Also, I think I saw Nichole with two cell phones earlier."
"Two?"
Sophie was puzzled. It wasn't unusual for someone to have two cell phones though, so she said lightly, "Let's not worry about that for now. Just take Nichole to the dinner tonight."
"Understood, Ms. Sophie."
Sophie hung up the phone, looking at the file in her hand.
She believed the answer would soon reveal itself.
In the evening, Nichole changed into a dress previously gifted by James and went to the restaurant with Ada.
Nichole was brimming with confidence upon arrival at the restaurant, but as soon as the private room's door opened, the smile on her face froze.
Inside the room were none other than the high-rollers she had accompanied last time. At that moment, those men were eyeing her with keen interest.
Nichole froze in place, unable to move.
Ada was puzzled, glanced at Nichole, and asked, "Why aren't you coming in?"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
