"Listen, young lady, stop playing the victim here! Don't think that pretending to be dead and latching onto a sugar daddy solves everything! Now that your sugar daddy doesn't want you anymore, you better find another wealthy husband to clear the $80 million gambling debt your mother owes us, or I won't let you off so easily!"
"What? $80 million?!" Nichole's face turned pale. "How do we owe so much money?"
"What do you think?"
The men exchanged glances, and at that moment, Nichole realized something. "You're loan sharks! That's illegal!"
"Illegal?"
The men burst into laughter.
"You think you have the right to talk law with me? Debts must be repaid. It's only natural! Your mother signed the IOU herself! It must be paid!"
"I've had nothing to do with her for ages! Why should I have to pay?"
"A daughter pays her mother's debts. Did you think changing your identity would make any difference?" One of the men held up a birth certificate, sneering, "We've got all the dirt on you and your mother here. You won't escape this debt in this lifetime!"
At that moment, Ada walked into the room, feigning confusion. "What's going on? Why is everyone standing? Please, sit down, and let's continue our meal."
Though her complexion was still ghastly, Nichole collected her thoughts and sat down. She couldn’t stomach a single bite.
"Ada, I'm not feeling well. I think I need to head back."
"Is it serious? Do you want me to drive you?"
"No, thanks."
Nichole fled as if escaping danger.
Ada watched her leave, her gaze turning icy.
"Ada, was it? Let's talk business," one of the men said, placing his hand inappropriately on Ada's leg.
Ada simply smiled, then stood up, saying, "I'm sorry. I've got this bill today. Enjoy your meal."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free.
