"No, no, please! I'll talk, I'll talk!"
Katy's heart raced as she heard James' words. She wasn't ready to die, and she didn't want to die!
Katy trembled and stammered, "You, you need to promise, if I tell you everything, you'll let me go. Then I'll tell you everything!"
"I can't be sure of that," James replied, his tone slightly softer. "But if you do tell me, I'll be relatively more lenient toward you."
Hearing this, Katy's face turned pale. This meant that no matter what she said today, he wouldn't easily let her go.
Looking down at Katy, who had collapsed on the floor, James said, "Go to the police or face the dark room. It's your choice."
With a determined heart, Katy looked up into James' cold eyes and said, "It was all..."
Before Katy could finish, the office phone suddenly rang. Colt answered the call, and after a brief conversation, he hung up and turned to James, saying, "Mr. Burke, Ms. Nichole is here."
"What does she want? I don’t want to see her!" James' voice turned cold.
Katy's expression stiffened upon hearing Nichole was here.
James' gaze returned to Katy. "You may continue now."
"It was all my idea! I was in gambling debt. I was so scared, and I had no choice but to kidnap Mrs. Burke! I beg you, I know I made a mistake now. Please don't put me in the dark room. I'm willing to go to jail! I really am!"

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
