Bea snapped back to reality and said, "Right. Marian, go and call the driver right away. Let’s head to the police station. Hurry!"
"Yes, Madam." Marian immediately went to summon the driver.
Calla said, "Grandma Bea, let me go with you."
"Okay, okay." Bea patted Calla’s hand and said, "Calla, do as I tell you later. If we can get through this safely, you'll be the future daughter-in-law of the Burke family."
Hearing Bea’s promise, Calla was overjoyed, "Of course, I’ll listen to you."
The police car roamed around for half an hour before finally arriving at the police station.
Stepping out, James had a grim expression, and Colt by his side was also holding back his anger.
The driver intentionally took a detour, clearly wanting the townsfolk to see the police car escorting them, aiming to fuel the public opinion even further.
How could Colby resort to such despicable tactics?
"Mr. Colby, Ms. Sophie, please get out of the car."
From another police car, Sophie, wrapped in Colby’s coat, stepped out, meeting James' gaze with indifference.
James glanced at Colby and coldly said, "Colby, that’s quite the tactic. I’m impressed."
Colby unapologetically said, "Compared to you, my tactics are indeed a bit more sophisticated."
"Mr. James, please come with us to give a statement."
The police led James away.

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free.
