"I know your family went bankrupt, and you're short on money. Actually, if you begged us, we could give you some, at least enough for you to get by."
Solana thought her words would sway Sophie, but Sophie simply replied nonchalantly, "Sorry, I can't understand what you're saying."
"You..." Solana glared at Sophie, then said, "Sophie, you're forcing my hand here!"
Sophie remained silent, prompting Solana to signal her bodyguards with a glance. Several guards immediately rushed upstairs.
Sophie frowned as Solana made herself comfortable on the couch, leisurely waiting for the bodyguards to finish searching the house.
The guards carelessly threw things around, their actions more reminiscent of raiding a house than searching for a person.
Solana lounged on the couch and asked, "How's the search going?"
"Madam, we haven't spotted Mr. Burke."
Solana's brow furrowed, and she turned to Sophie. "I didn't expect you to be so cunning. Tell me, where have you hidden him?"
"Solana, I've made myself very clear. He's not here. Your people have searched already. Isn't it time for you to leave?"
If it weren't for her being off her game, she wouldn't have let Solana off so easily.
Facing Sophie's somewhat polite response, Solana said, "I could not ignore my aunt's words. Since James hasn't returned, I'll wait here until he does."

Enjoying the story, to much victimising Sophie, they could at least try to target others. Hope at some point Sophie comes clean and forgives James and explain her view of loving the boy James was. Just so they both learn and move on. Really needs to be some consequences for the instigators instead of being let go. Sandy needs to see Vanessa is using her as a cover, and Sandy needs to wake up to herself, or be held responsible by her father for alienating the people she was supposed to make contact with. Hope the reporter brother is keeping an eye on what Vanessa and Odie are up to, and that he has he’s own justice in store. Hope he becomes like Reese a good partner. Hope James lives and finds he’s HEA. Need to put Nicole in prison , no release and several lifetimes , with all the evidence on the crimes she’s committed just to get her out of the way guilt free. More about what’s up with Gordon....
